Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking an experienced ETL/Data Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement reconciliation projects using ETL tools and Python. The role includes automation, data processing, and integration with the TLM product.

You will work across incident management, PIRs, and cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, performance, and compliant delivery. Experience with ETL frameworks and Oracle SQL is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in ETL and Python framework, SQL, Oracle Database, Shell Scripting.
  • Graduate in Computer Science or related courses.

Responsibilities

  • Incident management: restore services, troubleshoot errors, identify root cause.
  • Document Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) to prevent recurrence.
  • Design, develop and maintain ETL workflows for data reconciliation.

Job description

The key purpose is to involve in design, development, testing and implementation of reconciliation projects. Additional responsibilities include involvement in development of Python related activities, automation, develop tools using TLM product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Management: Restore services, troubleshoot system errors, and identify root cause
  • Conducting Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) to document findings and prevent recurrence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows to load, transform and reconcile data for TLM.
  • Develop Python scripts and components for data processing, automation, and integration with TLM.
  • Write and optimize Oracle SQL (views, functions, procedures, packages) to support TLM interfaces and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts for job scheduling, file handling, and batch processing.
  • Participate in the end-to-end TLM implementation lifecycle: requirements analysis, solution design, development, unit testing, and deployment.
  • Work closely with business, operations, and BA teams to understand reconciliation rules, matching logic, and exception handling.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to ETL jobs, data quality, and TLM processing.
  • Contribute to performance tuning across ETL processes, database queries, and scripts.
  • Prepare and maintain technical design documents, data flow diagrams, and job run books.
  • Create and update test cases, perform unit/system integration testing, and support UAT.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure/DevOps teams for deployment, monitoring, and job scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to bank standards, security, compliance, and audit requirements.
Key Expertise
  • TLM Product Knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with ETL development (Informatica(Preferable), DataStage, or similar enterprise ETL tools).
  • Python programming (data processing, automation, scripting)
  • Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
  • Shell Scripting (Unix/Linux for automation, job orchestration)
  • Mastery of operating system internals, file systems, process management, and security.
  • Understanding of OSI models, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and how to diagnose network-related failures
  • Experience working with batch processing, file-based interfaces for structured (CSV, XML, SWIFT, etc.) and unstructured(PDF,text,etc.) formats.
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning,AI Agents & Service Bench .
  • Understanding of banking/financial operations and transaction flows (e.g., payments, securities, cash, Nostro, positions) is an advantage.
  • Experience in SDLC and working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline,SonarCube.
