Responsibilities

• Manage annual procurement spend across mechanical commodities with cost competitiveness and savings delivery.
• Lead sourcing for sheet metal, castings, forgings, machined components, fabrication, plastics, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Develop and execute commodity and sourcing strategies including localization and dual sourcing.
• Drive negotiations, long-term agreements, cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Focus on should-costing, TCO, VA/VE and raw-material price analysis.
• Identify and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, technology and delivery.

Role Overview

Looking for an experienced Direct Procurement professional to manage strategic sourcing of mechanical commodities, with end-to-end ownership of annual procurement spend, supplier strategy, cost optimization, localization, and supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage significant annual procurement spend across mechanical commodities, ensuring cost competitiveness, savings delivery, and effective spend management.
• Lead sourcing for Sheet Metal, Castings, Forgings, Machined Components, Fabrication, Plastics, Enclosures and Mechanical Assemblies.
• Develop and execute commodity and sourcing strategies, including supplier consolidation, localization and alternate/dual sourcing.
• Drive commercial negotiations, long-term agreements, cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
• Strong focus on should-costing, zero-based costing, TCO, VA/VE and raw-material price analysis.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, technology and delivery performance.
• Support NPD/NPI projects, supplier nomination, tooling development and production readiness.
• Monitor supplier performance, spend, savings, risks and supply continuity.

Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred.
• 10-15 years of Direct Procurement / Strategic Sourcing experience in industrial or manufacturing organizations.
• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical commodity sourcing and high-value spend management.
• Strong techno-commercial negotiation, costing, supplier development and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SAP/ERP and global/BCR sourcing preferre
