Job summary

Birlasoft in Pune seeks an experienced Finance Leader to build and run a data-driven business finance function. You will manage revenue, profit, and cash for a high-revenue segment, and lead a small team of 2-3 ICs.

The role requires strong forecasting, variance analysis, and ROI focus, with close collaboration to business leaders, leadership reviews, and continuous financial discipline. CA or MBA-Finance background with 12+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Build an analytical and data driven business finance function.
• Set up forecasting model to improve predictability and financial discipline.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly numbers and PPT for Leadership Team reviews.
• Develop annual operating plan framework and variance analysis with comments.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve P&L issues.

Responsibilities

• Build an analytical and data driven business finance function and support on the following tasks
• Set up forecasting model to help improve predictability to bring in a financial discipline
• Monthly / Quarterly numbers and PPT preparation for review for Leadership Team
• Build framework for annual operating plan, and conduct periodic budget vs actual variance analysis along with comments
• Work closely with cross functional teams to resolve issues if any on P&L
• Guide the team on data analysis for any decision-making scenario, bringing out business insights that are not visible in regular reviews
• Proactive in reviewing financial information, identifying exception / and any irregularities initiate action to rectify and follow up for logical closure
• Support finance / business leaders in simulation of traffic projections and conversion, working out the right lever to invest on attaining the traffic target, including cost optimization plans
• Establish ROI on investment and do monthly track and share inputs with Management
• Build operational plan for optimizing on utilization and channel mix
• Participate in budget discussion and support scenario building / simulation modelling
• Hands on experience on reporting

About the role

The role supports a business segment with $100M+ of annual revenue, and is responsible for managing revenue, profit and cash for the segment. The person is also expected to be well-versed in pricing of new business coming from the customers in their business segment. The person would have small team of 2-3 individual contributors supporting the role. The individual is expected to work closely with the business leaders and participate in business reviews and present financials during such reviews
