Job summary

Aristocrat in India is seeking a Technical Artist to develop and update artwork and animation for digital gaming projects. You will focus on the content implementation pipeline and ensure assets are delivered on time to specification, with meticulous attention to detail.

Collaborate with global studio leads, follow asset pipelines, and continuously improve tools and processes. Requires strong Adobe After Effects and Photoshop skills, 2D graphics expertise, and experience with Perforce and Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5–8 years in digital gaming as a technical artist.
• Strong experience with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
• Solid knowledge of 2D graphics and animation principles.
• Knowledge of scripting to automate Artist tools (After Effects plugins).
• Experience with Perforce and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Develop/Update artwork and animation for digital gaming projects
• Focus on Content implementation pipeline
• Ensure relevant processes regarding asset management, file organization, output configuration are clearly and correctly executed
• Schedule and manage time efficiently – work with agile development leaders to plan work
• Deliver assets on time to specification with a thorough and complete attention to detail
• Responsible for having peer reviews to check work for accuracy and quality
• Game Documentation as per business need
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to achieve the highest quality games possible
• Follow guidelines set by management to manage / develop art assets to support business
• Bring in ideas/innovations to improve the overall testing process in terms of tools, processes etc.
• Work collaboratively with Global team/studio Leads for status updates, guidance and working as one team to deliver defined goals
• Participation in after business hours calls as per business need

Technical Artist Responsibilities

• Create visually appealing assets that meet project briefs while exploring innovative concepts and providing multiple design variations.
• Develop and implement artwork that adheres to the technical constraints of the game engines and platforms, ensuring optimal performance.
• Uphold high standards of quality and accuracy in all technical art processes, ensuring consistency across projects
• Continuously develop technical skills related to your discipline and software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant tools.
• Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and provide regular updates on project progress
• Manage and document files, assets, and workflows to streamline accessibility and usability for the team.
• Follow the established asset pipeline, focusing on optimizing models, textures, and animations for performance in various game environments.
• Keep up to date with advancements in the gaming industry, multi-platform development, and relevant technical practices.
• Work closely with artists, developers, and studio leads, providing technical support and guidance to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/BFA/MFA or equivalent work 5-8 yrs. work experience in digital gaming as technical artist
• Must have strong experience in Adobe products (After Effects and Photoshop)
• Strong knowledge of 2D Graphics
• Understanding of After Effects and animation principles will be a plus.
• Good knowledge of any scripting language to automate Artist tools as After Effects plug-in
• Experience in using Assets control systems (Perforce) and Microsoft Office Suite will be a plus.
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies will be a plus.
• Prior experience in the digital or social gaming industry will be a plus.
• A good eye for attention to detail and be willing to follow technical/compliance specifications.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders
• Suggests ideas to improve the overall testing process in terms of tools, processes, test cases etc.
