Reliance Industries Limited is seeking a Sr. Lead Instrumentation, SCADA & Control to lead maintenance, reliability, integrity, and continuous improvement of all instrumentation, automation, SCADA, PLC, and control systems across CBM & SHPPL Gas facilities.

The role ensures safe, reliable operation, supports production targets, asset integrity, cybersecurity, and operational excellence initiatives while providing strategic leadership to instrumentation and automation teams.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, PLC systems.
• 15–20 years of Oil & Gas experience.
• Experience leading 10–15 engineers.
• Hands-on with API, ASTM, and OISD standards.

Main Purpose:

The Sr. Lead Instrumentation, SCADA & Control is responsible for leading the maintenance, reliability, integrity, and continuous improvement of all instrumentation, automation, SCADA, PLC, and control systems across CBM & SHPPL Gas facilities. The role ensures the safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of plant control systems while supporting production targets, asset integrity, cybersecurity requirements, and operational excellence initiatives.

The incumbent shall provide strategic leadership to instrumentation and automation teams, manage maintenance programs, drive digital transformation initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.

Job Accountabilities:

• Lead and manage Instrumentation, SCADA, Control Systems, and Automation teams.
• Develop team competencies through coaching, mentoring, technical training, and succession planning.
• Establish KPIs and performance targets for maintenance and reliability teams.
• Manage contractors, service providers, and OEM support personnel.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to HSE policies.

Maintenance & Reliability

• Ensure the reliability and availability of field instrumentation.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure continuous availability and reliability of critical control systems.
• Develop reliability improvement programs.
• Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for major incidents and repetitive failures.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and critical equipment strategies.
• Manage SCADA architecture upgrades and modernization projects.
• Ensure effective operation and reliability of SCADA, PLC, and control systems.
• Implement cybersecurity measures for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Drive digitalization and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
• Review engineering designs, specifications, and vendor documents.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities.
• Prepare Scopes of Work and tender documents and conduct technical evaluations.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets related to instrumentation and automation systems.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, OEMs, consultants, and EPC contractors on project and operational interfaces.

Qualification:

Experience:

• 15–20 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in handling the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of a major Oil & Gas production project in a lead role.
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of 10–15 engineers.
• Hands‑on experience and knowledge of API, ASTM, and OISD standards applicable to the Oil & Gas industry.
• Sound knowledge of field instrumentation and calibration processes.
• Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical report‑writing capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of industry codes and practices, applicable legislation, and international standards.
• Ability to prepare Scopes of Work, tender documents, and technical evaluations.

Preferred Profile

• Proven leadership experience in heading Instrumentation and SCADA maintenance functions.
• Strong track record in greenfield project execution, commissioning, maintenance excellence, cost optimization, and team leadership.
• Experience in managing interfaces with Electrical, Mechanical, OEMs, consultants, and EPC contractors.
