Job summary

Emerson in Pune is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 8–14 years of experience in actuators, cylinders and valve domains. You will develop 3D solid models, assemblies and drawings with GD&T, and support product development through tolerance studies.

You will plan projects, deliver outputs on schedule, conduct lab testing, perform BOMs, and participate in cost reduction and rationalization projects. You will collaborate with global teams and adhere to quality processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering with 8–14 years' experience in actuators and valves.
• Knowledge of NFPA, ISO, FDA standards.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance studies.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill is required.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Job Description:

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Understand Project / Work Scope, plan and deliver quality output / deliverables to meet the expected schedule and timeline

• Work on Customized Design and value engineering for cylinders, Actuators, Valves,

• Develop 3D solid models and assemblies.

• Complete the drawings along with tolerance study, GD&T, analysis of fits and clearances.

• Prepare engineering documentation including bill of material

• Support cost reduction and Rationalization Projects within Cylinder product line

• Ability to test the products in lab following safety practices and guidelines

• Contribute to EIC-Pune Assigned Initiatives

• Interact with other team members (global / locally) to meet and optimize product design requirements.

• Assume additional roles and responsibilities as required.

• Adherence to quality process. On time delivery & Quality of the deliverables

• Communicate and coordinate results with the team members

• Willingness to learn is critical

• Support various organizational initiatives like Innovation, Safety, Customer focus, processes etc.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Minimum bachelor’s in mechanical engineering having relevant exposure in actuators, cylinders and valve domain with 8– 14 years

• Knowledge about various standards applicable to cylinder product line – NFPA, ISO, FDA etc

• Knowledge of elastomers used in cylinders

• Good knowledge about cylinder configurations – referencing catalog

• Software skills: Creo (Expert level), knows MS Office Software tools such Word, Excel & Power Point,

• Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink

• Knowledge of Strong modelling and drafting practices

• Working knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance Study and International Standards.

• Basic Knowledge of Pneumatically operated Solenoid operated direction control Valves, Air preparation valves,

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes like machining, casting, Forging, Stamping and plastic molding would be desirable

• Aware of surface treatment processes like anodizing, Nickel plating etc.

• Strong interpersonal skills and team working player.

• Good Lateral Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
