Job summary

Birlasoft ( India ) Limited is seeking an experienced SAP MM Lead with 12+ years of hands-on expertise in SAP Materials Management and related logistics modules. The role focuses on end-to-end SAP MM design, implementation, support and optimization across procurement, inventory and vendor management.

The position involves collaboration with SAP SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM and FI professionals, coordinating S/4HANA migration efforts, and mentoring junior consultants.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on SAP MM experience in materials management and related logistics modules.
• Strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, vendor management, and invoice verification.
• Experience integrating SAP MM with SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM, and FI; knowledge of S/4HANA migrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP MM implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and support projects.
• Gather business requirements and translate into SAP MM functional specs.
• Configure and customize SAP MM processes including procurement, requisition, purchase orders, inventory management, vendor evaluation, and release strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve procurement and supply chain processes.
• Ensure integration with SAP SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM, and FI modules; support SAP S/4HANA migration initiatives.
• Prepare functional specs for custom developments and coordinate with technical teams.
• Conduct testing, UAT, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
• Provide production support and resolve critical issues within SLA timelines.
• Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge transfer.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, vendor management, invoice verification, and integration with SAP SD, PP, WM/EWM, and FI modules. The candidate will be responsible for end‑to‑end SAP MM solution design, implementation, support, enhancement, and business process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP MM implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and support projects.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP MM functional specifications.
• Configure and customize SAP MM processes including procurement process, purchase requisition & purchase orders, inventory management, vendor evaluation, release strategy, invoice verification, service procurement, subcontracting & stock transport orders.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to improve procurement and supply chain processes.
• Integrate SAP MM with SAP SD, PP, WM/EWM, QM, and FI modules.
• Support SAP S/4HANA migration and transformation initiatives.
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments and coordinate with technical teams.
• Conduct system testing, UAT support, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
• Provide production support and resolve critical business issues within SLA timelines.
• Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge transfer activities.
• Create process documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
