Job summary

Northern Trust in Pune is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, govern, and operate cloud data platform services that empower analytics and application teams. You will implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation, ensuring security, reliability, and self-service capabilities across the enterprise.

Ideal candidates have strong cloud platform engineering experience (Azure preferred) and hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, and database technologies.

Qualifications

• Cloud platform engineering experience with enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on with IaC, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, and database tech.
• Strong security controls, IAM, secrets management.
• Experience in Financial Services is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and operate enterprise cloud data platform services
• Curate and manage data platform capabilities consumed by application, analytics, and data teams
• Define platform standards, governance, security controls, and operational best practices

• Architect cloud networking, authentication, authorization, and integration patterns

Desired Experience

Strong Cloud Platform Engineering background, preferably on Azure

Experience managing and operating data platform technologies such as: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

GitHub Actions / CI/CD pipelines

GitOps and platform automation

Cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and policy enforcement

Network architecture and connectivity design

Platform monitoring, reliability, and operational support models

Nice to Have

Data Lake/Lakehouse architecture exposure

Python or scripting for platform automation

Experience supporting AI/ML and analytics platforms

Financial Services domain experience
