Lever, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Human Resources Associate for a 9-month fixed-term role in a remote-first setup based in India.

You will manage onboarding, employee data, benefits, payroll coordination, documentation, and offboarding across multiple regions, collaborating with payroll providers, insurers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in HR operations, strong English communication, and experience within a multicultural, distributed team.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Human Resources Associate, Shared Service Centre based in India.

This is a 9-month fixed-term opportunity within a fast-growing, global, remote-first environment supporting professionals across multiple regions.
You will play a key role in delivering accurate, responsive HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle.
The position covers onboarding, employee data management, benefits administration, payroll coordination, documentation, and offboarding support.
You will work closely with professionals, customers, payroll teams, insurers, local service providers, and internal stakeholders across international markets.
The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to manage sensitive HR information accurately and efficiently.
You will also contribute to process improvements, maintain operational documentation, and help ensure service levels and procedures are consistently followed.
This role is particularly suited to an HR operations professional who thrives in a multicultural, distributed team and is comfortable supporting different time zones.

Accountabilities:
  • Support key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee data management, visa renewals and transfers, status changes, and offboarding.
  • Prepare and maintain HR documentation such as employment contracts, amendments, HR policies, benefits and payroll enrollment documents, onboarding guides, employment certificates, and termination documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee and customer records within the HR platform, processing updates related to new hires, changes in status, benefits, and terminations.
  • Administer employee benefits and coordinate with brokers and insurers to facilitate benefits enrollment and resolve related queries.
  • Provide accurate payroll information, including time and expense data, while working closely with payroll teams and local payroll providers.
  • Conduct data audits and quality checks to identify discrepancies and help ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Communicate clearly with professionals and customers by email and other channels, responding to HR questions and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers, payroll providers, pension providers, local service providers, and other external partners to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for professionals and customers during onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Follow established service-level agreements and standard operating procedures while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help keep HR processes, standard operating procedures, and policies accurate and up to date.
  • Use AI-enabled tools and platforms where appropriate to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
Requirements:
  • 2–5 years of experience in HR operations, preferably within a shared services or regional HR environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of HR procedures, policies, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Hands‑on experience managing onboarding processes across the Americas region; experience supporting Canada, Mexico, the United States, or Brazil is particularly valuable.
  • Experience with offboarding processes is an additional advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with international stakeholders.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation and the ability to handle employee and customer queries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard workplace productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with AI and generative AI tools such as Gemini or NotebookLM to improve workflow efficiency and output quality.
  • Strong problem‑solving and resourcefulness, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Proven stakeholder‑management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, self‑motivation, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within international, multicultural, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Flexibility to accommodate different time zones based on customer and professional requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to work a night shift, with immediate availability preferred.
