Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Sr. General Manager – Direct Procurement to lead end-to-end direct procurement and strategic sourcing for Electrical & Electronics categories.

You will manage global supplier networks, drive cost optimization, localization, and supply continuity while partnering with R&D, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing on NPI and supplier innovation. You will lead a team to deliver productivity, negotiate favorable commercial terms, and mitigate risks from semiconductor

Qualifications

• 15–22 years of experience in Direct Procurement / Strategic Sourcing.
• Strong experience in Electrical & Electronics procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Global sourcing, supplier development and localization expertise.
• Leadership experience in managing procurement teams and delivering productivity/cost-saving targets.
• Excellent cost optimization, negotiations and supplier relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage categories including semiconductors, ICs, PCB/PCBA, IGBT/MOSFET, capacitors, resistors, sensors, connectors, relays, etc.
• Develop and execute category strategies focused on cost optimization and supply continuity.
• Drive supplier development, negotiations, VA/VE, should-costing and alternate source development.
• Manage supplier performance across Cost, Quality, Delivery, Tech and Sustainability.
• Partner with R&D, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing for NPI and supplier innovation.
• Mitigate supply risks from semiconductor shortages and long-lead-time components.
• Lead and develop the procurement team to achieve annual productivity and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end Direct Procurement and Strategic Sourcing for Electrical & Electronic commodities.
• Manage categories including semiconductors, ICs, PCB/PCBA, IGBT/MOSFET, capacitors, resistors, sensors, connectors, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, transformers, power supplies, cables, wiring harnesses, busbars and electromechanical components.
• Develop and execute category strategies focused on cost optimization, localization, supplier consolidation and supply continuity.
• Drive supplier development, commercial negotiations, VA/VE, should-costing and alternate source development.
• Manage supplier performance across Cost, Quality, Delivery, Technology and Sustainability.
• Partner with R&D, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing for NPI, product development and supplier innovation.
• Mitigate supply risks related to semiconductor shortages, long lead-time components, obsolescence and single-source dependency.
• Lead and develop the procurement team while delivering annual productivity and cost-saving targets.

Preferred Profile: Strong experience in Electrical & Electronics Direct Procurement, global sourcing, supplier development, localization and strategic commodity management within a manufacturing environment.
