Job summary

Elecbits Technologies Private Limited is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design and develop firmware for embedded hardware platforms. You will own the full firmware lifecycle, make decisions on memory, power, and real-time performance, and optimize BLE/Wi‑Fi stacks for low latency and power efficiency.

The role requires hands-on RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX), proficiency in C/C++, and familiarity with cloud IoT platforms.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Familiarity with BLE and Wi-Fi and IoT protocols (MQTT/CoAP).
  • Proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained devices.
  • Hands-on RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX).
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M MCUs (STM32, nRF52, ESP32, NXP, TI CC).
  • Git-based version control workflows.
  • Unit testing experience preferred.
  • Cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, GCP IoT).
  • Exposure to edge computing—local inference and edge-to-cloud sync.
  • CI/CD pipelines for embedded targets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop optimized bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for embedded hardware platforms.
  • Own the full firmware lifecycle from architecture through production release.
  • Make architectural decisions around memory, power, and real-time performance trade-offs.
  • Develop and maintain low-level drivers for on-chip and external peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC).
  • Integrate and tune BLE and Wi-Fi stacks and optimize latency, throughput, and power.
  • Design secure OTA update mechanisms and ensure coding standards via reviews.
  • Write and maintain unit tests for regression-free releases.
  • Debug complex hardware-firmware integration issues and support manufacturing bring-up.

Job description

Elecbits is a tech-enabled, full-stack electronics design and manufacturing company that helps global enterprises go from an idea to a shelf-ready, commercial product — covering the end-to-end product development and manufacturing lifecycle via 25+ micro-services on our platform.

Trusted by global enterprises including Panasonic, Schneider Electric, Tesla, Maruti Suzuki, Bosch, V-guard, Ola Electric, Urban Company, Luminous, PhonePe, Escorts Kubota and Napino, we are the largest B2B electronics development and manufacturing platform of its kind, with 3000+ global manufacturers on our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop optimized bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for embedded hardware platforms.
  • Own the full firmware lifecycle from architecture through production release.
  • Make architectural decisions around memory, power, and real-time performance trade-offs.
Drivers & Peripheral Integration:
  • Develop and maintain low-level drivers for on-chip and external peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, etc.).
  • Integrate and tune wireless stacks such as BLE and Wi-Fi.
  • Optimize driver performance for latency, throughput, and power consumption.
OTA, Code Quality & Reviews:
  • Design and implement secure OTA (over-the-air) update mechanisms.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and uphold coding standards across the firmware codebase.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure regression-free releases.
Debugging & Manufacturing Support:
  • Debug complex hardware-firmware integration issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG tools.
  • Support manufacturing bring-up and assist production teams during early builds.
  • Diagnose and resolve field issues in collaboration with hardware and QA teams.
Preferred Skills
  • 5–10 years of professional embedded firmware development experience
  • Familiarity with wireless stacks (BLE, Wi-Fi) and IoT application protocols (MQTT/CoAP)
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained environments
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX)
  • Working knowledge of ARM Cortex-M MCUs (STM32, nRF52, ESP32, NXP, or TI CC series)
  • Comfortable with Git-based version control workflows
  • Unit testing experience preferred
  • Experience with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, GCP IoT)
  • Exposure to edge computing — local inference, edge-to-cloud sync, fleet management
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for embedded targets.
