Qualifications

Job Overview

As an AVP Tech, Data Engineering Lead at LPL, you will lead a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and platforms. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions using various data technologies.
• Architect and optimize System of Record application alongside data warehousing and data lake solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data governance, and data security.
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of data operations. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, processes, and systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data engineering processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or lead role.
• Proven experience with data technologies such as RDS, Spark, Kafka, Flink, etc.
• Expertise in designing and implementing data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Java). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS,) and their data related services.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms.

Preferences

• Experience in the Wealth Management industry is a plus.
