Job summary

Husco is seeking a Plant Quality professional to manage the plant quality concerns, drive supplier-related issue resolution, and support NPI builds to ensure uninterrupted production. You will execute containment, corrective actions, and preventive measures while coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires hands‑on experience with CMM programming, dimensional inspection, and a strong understanding of quality tools and ISO/IATF standards to maintain high build quality across

Qualifications

• BE/ Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering and 5–7 years of plant quality experience.
• Knowledge of casting, casting machining, precision machining and processes like heat treatment and plating.
• Hands‑on experience with 8D, problem solving techniques, SPC, PPAP, MSA and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage NCRs and troubleshoot plant quality issues with immediate containment.
• Plan containment actions to prevent production disruptions and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions; coordinate with SQD during NPI trials.
• Verify corrective actions at supplier locations and perform rework at the plant site.
• Support HCP activities and ensure smooth valve assembly and build quality.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for managing plant-quality concerns, driving supplier-related issue resolution, supporting NPI builds, and ensuring uninterrupted production by executing effective containment, corrective actions, and preventive mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

• NCR Management & Problem Resolution:
  • Address and troubleshoot plant quality issues, including implementing immediate fixes.
  • Plan and execute containment actions to prevent production disruptions.
  • Follow up with suppliers for NCR acceptance, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead closure of plant quality issues to avoid line stoppages.
  • Coordinate with SQD during NPD/NPI trials and communicate trial results.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (CFT) for deviation approvals.
  • Visit supplier locations to validate corrective actions as required.
  • Coordinate and execute rework at the plant site.
  • Provide performance feedback for NPI parts as per the safe launch plan.
  • Lead HCP (Heightened control plan) activities during all project builds to ensure smooth valve assembly and overall build quality.
• Plant & NPI Support:
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for plant quality issues using appropriate problem‑solving tools.
  • Develop, validate, and standardize measurement methods and related inspection standards.
  • Collaborate with SQD to drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier end.
• Required Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; able to lead and resolve plant quality issues with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMM programming and dimensional inspection of complex components.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with NPI buyers, supplier development engineers, quality teams, production, manufacturing, and suppliers.

• Approved supplier Sorting SOPs.
• Approve or reject supplier sorting costs based on evaluation and justification.

Requirements

• BE/ Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of casting process, casting machining, precision machining & special processes like heat treatment, plating etc.
• Hands‑on experience on 8D, Problem solving techniques, SPC, PPAP, MSA, Quality tools etc.
• Good analytical ability, six sigma green belt is preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015, IATF16949, 14001: 2004 Standards.
