Job summary

Husco International, Inc. in Pune, India seeks a seasoned Quality Engineer to manage plant-quality concerns and drive supplier-related resolutions, ensuring uninterrupted production during NPI builds.

You will lead containment actions, coordinate with suppliers, perform RCA using 8D and quality tools, and support cross-functional teams to maintain build quality and process improvement across casting and machining operations.

Qualifications

• BE/ Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering required.
• 5-7 years of experience in plant quality/quality assurance.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949, 14001:2004 standards.
• Hands-on experience with 8D, SPC, PPAP, MSA and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Address and troubleshoot plant quality issues with immediate containment actions.
• Plan containment to prevent production disruptions and coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions.
• Lead RCA and root cause analysis for plant quality issues.
• Lead HCP activities and ensure smooth valve assembly and build quality.
• Visit supplier locations to validate corrective actions and coordinate rework at plant.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for managing plant-quality concerns, driving supplier‑related issue resolution, supporting NPI builds, and ensuring uninterrupted production by executing effective containment, corrective actions, and preventive mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

1. NCR Management & Problem Resolution:

• Address and troubleshoot plant quality issues, including implementing immediate fixes.
• Plan and execute containment actions to prevent production disruptions.
• Follow up with suppliers for NCR acceptance, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Lead closure of plant quality issues to avoid line stoppages.
• Coordinate with SQD during NPD/NPI trials and communicate trial results.
• Work with cross‑functional teams (CFT) for deviation approvals.
• Visit supplier locations to validate corrective actions as required.
• Coordinate and execute rework at the plant site.
• Provide performance feedback for NPI parts as per the safe launch plan.
• Lead HCP (Heightened control plan) activities during all project builds to ensure smooth valve assembly and overall build quality.

1. Plant & NPI Support:

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for plant quality issues using appropriate problem‑solving tools.
• Develop, validate, and standardize measurement methods and related inspection standards.
• Collaborate with SQD to drive continuous improvement initiatives at supplier end.

1. Required Skills & Attributes:

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; able to lead and resolve plant quality issues with minimal supervision.
• In‑depth knowledge of CMM programming and dimensional inspection of complex components.
• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with NPI buyers, supplier development engineers, quality teams, production, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Authorities

• Approved supplier Sorting SOPs.
• Approve or reject supplier sorting costs based on evaluation and justification.

Requirements

1. BE/ Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
2. Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience.
3. Knowledge of casting process, casting machining, precision machining & special processes like heat treatment, plating etc.
4. Hands‑on experience on 8D, Problem solving techniques, SPC, PPAP, MSA, Quality tools etc.
5. Good analytical ability, six sigma green belt is preferred.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949, 14001:2004 Standards.
