Job summary

Netafim Digital Farming seeks a QA Automation Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance across Web, Mobile, API, and backend systems through automation and AI-driven quality engineering. You will collaborate with Engineers, Product, DevOps, and Customer Success to drive continuous testing.

The role emphasizes automation framework design, CI/CD integration, and AI-assisted debugging in a cross-functional Agile setup.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc in Computer Science, BE in Computers/IT/Electronic & Telecommunication.
• Strong hands-on Python with OO and automation best practices.
• Proven Playwright with Python for Web UI automation.
• REST API testing/automation via Playwright/Python or similar.
• Strong Pytest and BDD (Behave/Gherkin) for scalable automation frameworks.
• Appium experience for Android and/or iOS automation.
• Experience with Page Object Model and reusable automation frameworks.
• IoT testing experience for device/backend/web/mobile validation.
• Git and CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) integration.
• Knowledge of Functional, Integration, Regression, End-to-End, and System Testing.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis; effective cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

At Netafim Digital Farming, AI is core to our engineering culture, and we expect QA engineers to use AI tools daily to improve quality and productivity. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our Web, Mobile, API, and backend systems through automation, AI‑driven quality engineering, and continuous testing collaborating closely with Engineers, Product, DevOps, and Customer Success teams.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Education: Bsc in Computer Science, BE – Computers, IT, Electronic and Telecommunication
• Programming: Strong hands‑on experience in Python with a good understanding of object‑oriented programming and automation best practices.
• UI Automation: Proven experience in Playwright with Python for Web UI automation.
• API Automation: Experience in REST API testing and automation using Playwright/Python or equivalent Python libraries.
• Test Frameworks: Strong experience with Pytest and BDD (Behave/Gherkin) for developing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
• Mobile Automation: Hands‑on experience with Appium for Android and/or iOS automation.
• Automation Framework Design: Experience designing, developing, and maintaining reusable automation frameworks following Page Object Model (POM) and other industry best practices.
• IoT Testing: Experience testing IoT devices/controllers, including end‑to‑end validation of device communication with backend services, web applications, and mobile applications.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar) and integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines.
• Testing Knowledge: Strong understanding of Functional, Integration, Regression, End‑to‑End, and System Testing.
• Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Strong analytical skills to investigate automation failures, identify root causes, and improve test reliability.
• Communication: Good verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional Agile team.

Nice to Have

• Performance testing using tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Azure Cloud services and Azure DevOps.
• SonarQube or other code quality tools.
• MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSocket, or other IoT communication protocols.
• SQL/PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with Digital Farming, Smart Irrigation, Industrial IoT, or connected device ecosystems will be added advantage.
• Performance testing, SonarQube, and Azure cloud services.
