The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales, purchasing and engineering to optimize flow, maintain quality, and control costs while tracking progress and reporting status to management.

Role & responsibilities

• Developing Production Plans:

PPC creates detailed plans outlining what, when, and how products will be manufactured.

• Demand Forecasting:

Anticipating future customer demand to ensure sufficient production capacity.

• Resource Allocation:

Determining the resources (labour, materials, equipment) needed for each production step.

• Scheduling:

Creating detailed schedules for each production task, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.

• Capacity Planning:

Assessing production capacity to meet forecasted demand and identify potential bottlenecks.

Control:

• Inventory Management:

Monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses, and ensuring timely replenishment.

• Monitoring Production Processes:

Tracking progress, identifying any deviations from the plan, and taking corrective actions.

• Quality Control:

Implementing and enforcing quality control measures to ensure products meet standards.

• Cost Control:

Analysing production costs and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

• Collaboration:

Coordinating with other departments like sales, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of information and materials.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Routing: Determining the sequence of operations for each product.
• Dispatching: Initiating the production process, ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
• Follow-Up: Monitoring progress, addressing any issues, and ensuring that production is on track.
• Reporting: Preparing and submitting status reports on production performance.
