Job summary

Axium Global in Mumbai is seeking a Senior MEP Design Engineer to lead Plumbing and Fire Protection design within the Design & Engineering Team at the Andheri Delivery Centre. You will drive concept through tender design, producing technical specifications, BOQs, and drawings while coordinating with clients.

You should have a BE/BTech/ME/MTech in mechanical or civil engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, proficient AutoCAD skills, and strong English communication for client

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in mechanical or civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years designing Plumbing & Fire Protection systems for commercial, retail, hospital and residential projects.
• Experience in water supply, sewerage and drainage systems incl. calculations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Design Plumbing & Fire Protection systems from concept to documentation (design development, tender documentation, specs, BOQ, drawings).
• Develop distribution systems per current codes and client guidelines for various building types.
• Perform calculations and create layouts/mark-ups as per project requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and take on design responsibilities across projects (commercial, residential, retail, hospitals).
• Mentor and assist junior engineers; support offshore visits when required.

Job Description

This position involvesworking within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Global's Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists ofskilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical andplumbing engineers with varied experience. The senior engineerwould require taking on a leadership role with the potential ofgrowing a team reporting to them.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsibility forthe overall design of Plumbing & fire protection systems& deliverables, including Concept Design, SchematicDesign, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation(including Technical Specifications, BOQ, Schedules andDrawings)
  
• Ability to designcomplete distribution systems to current legislation and codesof practice for various types of buildings based on clientbrief & guidelines
  
• Ability to workindependently on various calculations and layouts/schematicmark-ups as per project requirements
  
• Having regularcommunication with the client and taking on designresponsibilities on project types like commercial,residential, retail, laboratories &hospitals.
  
• Understanding codes& standards local to project location and utilizing thelatest & industry leading software
  
• Ability toindependently communicate with Clients in written and spokenEnglish
  
• Ability toindependently create Plumbing & fire protection designmark-ups and perform calculations
  
• Ability to mentor andassist Junior Engineers
  
• Ability to gettrained on and work on newer DesignSoftware
  
• Ability to undertakeoffshore visit to client office if required for detailedtraining and one-to-one session.
  

Qualification andExperience Required

• BE/BTech/ME/MTechdegree in mechanical or civil engineering or a relatedtechnical field
  
• Minimum 5 years ofexperience in designing of Plumbing & Fire Protectionsystems for commercial, retail, hospital and residentialprojects
  
• Experience in designof water supply, sewerage and drainage systems includingnecessary calculations
  
• Design ofcomprehensive underground sewerage and storm water systems.Sizing and selecting of location for STP & water tanks.Detail drawing layout for internal & external water anddrainage system
  
• Experience in fireprotection systems design of sprinklers, external &internal hydrant system, fire pump & tank systems design,hydraulic calculations
  
• Experience of havingworked on AutoCAD for preparing Designlayouts
  
• Experience of usingMS Office
  
• Proven experience ofhaving successfully managed Clientcommunication.
