Job summary

Xperi Bengaluru seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our global enterprise network. You will collaborate with global IT teams to ensure highly available, resilient networks across data centers, cloud connections and on-premise systems.

The role requires 7+ years in enterprise networking, expertise in firewall setups, routing protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP), and experience with Juniper and Cisco gear.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Enterprise and Data center Networking.
• Expertise in Next generation Firewall Setup and Configuration.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols TCP/IP, LACP, LLDP, VXLAN, BFD, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates maintenance and upgrade of networks across servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.
• Monitors network connectivity and ensures high quality data transmission for LAN/MAN/WAN and cloud networks.
• Liaises with network engineers, vendors, and third-party providers on network operation and projects.
• Participates in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Provides regular operational and incident reports.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS).

This role independently supports the global design, implementation, and maintenance of private and public network infrastructure. Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices. Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Advanced individual contributor who works on highly complex problems, tasks, or projects.

What you will get to do:

• Coordinates maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
• Accountable for appropriate monitoring of network connectivity and ensures high quality data transmission. Provides technical support to various departments and users with regards to LAN/MAN/WAN (local/metropolitan/wide area networks) and cloud-based networks.
• Serve as a liaison with network engineers, vendors, and other third-party providers in network operation and project activities.
• Participates in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and disaster recovery testing.
• Provides regular status, operational, incident, and change reports.
• Experience with Cloud computing platforms. (AWS)

Who we are looking for:

Must have:

• Expertise in Next generation Firewall Setup and Configuration
• In-depth knowledge on routing protocols TCP/IP, LACP, LLDP, VXLAN, BFD, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC
• Working experience with routing protocols, VPN encryption Technologies, modern switching platforms and firewalls including policy implementation.
• Expert in the configuration, design and management of network equipment including switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Experience working with hardware platforms Juniper, and Cisco must.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.
• 7+ years of experience in Enterprise and Data center Networking

Nice to have:

• Working knowledge in SDWAN
• Experience with managing redundant data circuits DIA, SDWAN, Amazon Dx,
• Hands-on experience using monitoring tools, automation tools (Python, Terraform, Github) etc.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure and GCP networking.
• Experience in AI tools and technologies.
