Job summary

Magna Automotive India Private Limited is seeking a Sr Designer (underbody) to lead the packaging of the underbody with a focus on engine, battery, axles, and suspension. You will align with design, engineering and VA teams to deliver a compliant, manufacturable package for the complete vehicle.

Role requires deep expertise in master section, ergonomics and vehicle layout, plus knowledge of SAE J1100 & GICE. The position anchors within Magna Steyr’s India design group in Pune.

Qualifications

• BE / DME in relevant engineering stream.
• 10-15 years of work experience in vehicle design/packaging.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle architecture and packaging standards.
• Proficiency in SAE J1100 & GICE.

Responsibilities

• Lead alignment meetings on the underbody package and its components (engine, battery/fuel tank, axles, suspension, etc.).
• Aim for convergence on issues considering dimensional concept and VA requirements.
• Provide package status reports at milestones and support vehicle-level target setting.
• Consolidate concept requirements across complete vehicle package, design and functional departments.
• Ensure manufacturability, production tech readiness and styling alignment in early development.
