Job summary

Techture is seeking an experienced Plumbing BIM Designer to design plumbing systems for international projects, ensuring compliance with US codes and project standards. You will develop BIM models, perform pipe sizing and water demand calculations, and review models for code compliance.

The ideal candidate has a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with 7–9 years of Plumbing design experience, proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and ACC/BIM 360, and strong communication skills for

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–9 years of Plumbing design experience on relevant projects.
• Proficiency in BIM and design software.
• Strong knowledge of US plumbing codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems for international projects.
• Develop Plumbing BIM models and deliverables per BIM standards and client requirements.
• Perform pipe sizing, fixture unit calculations, water demand calculations, and pump head calculations.
• Review Plumbing BIM models for compliance with US codes, regional requirements, client standards, and project specs.
• Ensure models comply with IPC, UPC, NFPA, ICC, and local authority requirements while maintaining accuracy.
• Provide technical guidance to the BIM team during model development.
• Review BIM models and guide the team to resolve design issues and improve model health and compliance.
• Coordinate Plumbing designs with Architecture, Structure, MEP disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and submittals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and resolve design issues.
• Maintain project documentation within ACC/BIM 360.

Job description

Design plumbing systems for international projects while ensuring compliance with US codes, project standards, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Plumbing BIM models and design deliverables in accordance with project BIM standards and client requirements.
• Perform pipe sizing, fixture unit calculations, water demand calculations, and pump head calculations.
• Review Plumbing BIM models for compliance with applicable US plumbing codes, regional authority requirements, client standards, and project specifications prior to submission.
• Ensure Plumbing BIM models comply with IPC, UPC, NFPA, ICC, and local authority requirements while maintaining engineering accuracy and constructability.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to the BIM team during model development, ensuring design intent, client requirements, and discipline-specific engineering standards are accurately incorporated into BIM models.
• Review BIM models periodically and guide the BIM team in resolving design-related issues, improving overall model health, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, project standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate Plumbing designs with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and resolve design issues.
• Maintain project documentation within ACC/BIM 360.

What We're Looking For

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–9 years of Plumbing design experience on commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, or data center projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360.
• Strong knowledge of US Plumbing codes, regional authority requirements, and industry standards with the ability to validate model compliance during design development.
• Strong understanding of plumbing design principles, multidisciplinary BIM workflows, engineering calculations, and construction documentation.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to guide BIM teams and interact with clients.

Technical Expertise

• Domestic Water, Hot & Cold Water Systems, Sanitary & Vent, Storm Water, Roof Drainage, Pump Rooms, Equipment Connections, Pipe Routing, and Water Demand Calculations.
• Working knowledge of IPC, UPC, NFPA, ICC, and other relevant international and regional standards.
