Job summary

Atlas Copco Group invites a skilled Electrical/Instrument Engineer to develop E&I philosophies and create P&IDs, SLDs, and service diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN. You will size instruments, switchgear, cables, and panels per IEC/UL/CE standards while producing BOMs and layouts.

You will contribute to project execution, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and start-up support, coordinating with clients and vendors globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in compressor, oil & gas, or rotating equipment industry.
• Proficiency in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
• Experience with AutoCAD/EPLAN and ERP/document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop E&I philosophies based on process requirements.
• Create P&IDs, service diagrams, and SLDs using AutoCAD/EPLAN.
• Prepare design specs; size/select instruments, switchgear, cables, and panels per standards.
• Develop panel layouts, wire harnesses, and BOMs.
• Generate IO Lists, Alarm/Trip Lists, Control Narratives, and Loop Diagrams.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, LV/MV/HV motors.
• Convert customer requirements into design solutions.
• Support testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, plant teams and management.
• Participate in Kick-off, HAZOP, SIL, Design Review, FAT, SAT meetings.

To succeed, you will need

Educational Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6-10 years of experience in the compressor, oil & gas, or rotating equipment industry.

• Effective stakeholder management skills, including coordination with internal and external parties.
