Job summary

Atlas Copco Holding GmbH in Pune seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation engineer to develop design philosophies, create P&IDs, and size/equip instruments and panels per global standards. You will draft layouts, IO lists, and control narratives while working with PLCs, VFDs, and motors across projects.

The role requires 6–10 years in the compressor/oil & gas or rotating equipment sector, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency in AutoCAD/EPLAN, SAP/BPCS, and Enovia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6-10 years of experience in compressor, oil & gas, or rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN; familiarity with SAP/BPCS and Enovia.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at client sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop E&I philosophies based on process requirements.
• Create P&IDs, service diagrams, and SLDs using AutoCAD Electrical/EPLAN.
• Prepare design specifications; size/select instruments, switchgear, cables, and panels per IEC, UL, CSA, ATEX, and CE standards.
• Develop panel layouts, wire harnesses, hook-up drawings, and BOMs.
• Prepare JB, cable, earthing, tray, and equipment layout drawings.
• Generate IO Lists, Alarm/Trip Lists, Control Narratives, Logic, CE, and Loop Diagrams.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, and LV/MV/HV motors.
• Convert customer requirements into design solutions.
• Apply ATEX/IECEx hazardous area classification and equipment selection.
• Perform PLC, panel, wiring, and logic design, testing, and validation.
• Support troubleshooting, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, plant teams, and management.
• Participate in Kick-off, HAZOP, SIL, Design Review, FAT, and SAT meetings.
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality and compliance.

To succeed, you will need

Educational Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6-10 years of experience in the compressor, oil & gas, or rotating equipment industry.
