Job summary

Mechtex - Motion Drivetronics Pvt. Ltd invites a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and optimization of electromechanical systems. You will oversee CAD development, prototyping, and testing, ensuring drawings, BOMs, and documentation align with customer requirements.

You will coordinate with production and quality teams, manage data in ERP systems, and drive design validation through to handover, using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SWAN ERP tools to deliver robust products.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 4–6 years of manufacturing/design experience.
• Experience with CAD, BOM management, and ERP/PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Design & development of new parts and products as per required specification.
• Recording of technical data of samples given by customer.
• Documentation of new development processes and products such as design validation plan, input data, output data etc.
• Dimensional checking and validating its parameter according to drawing in new development till the handover given to production.
• Releasing all drawings and documents from new development to Q-Inc once production trial and 1st sample submitted to customer.
• Preparing BOM in SWAN (ERP) software as per sales code.
• Reviewing customer drawings base on order code placed by Sales and Marketing and for new customer enquiry.
• Verifying the inspection table from customer drawing with sales and validation department.
• Cordination with production department Bill of material (If any changes in BOM).
• Finalization and approval of the Drawings, BOM and item masters.
• Testing coordination with production & quality w.r.t. Design.
• Trial coordination with the production & quality departments (whenever required).
• Based on correction inputs from production, quality depts., verify the necessary changes in design/specification.
• Release the new drawing, BOM to QC, production, purchase, sales, stores for newly developed product. NPRN closing date within 5 days.
• Maximize usage of Design and Testing Software Tools like Autocad, Solid works etc.
• Monitoring activities of internal Dept.
• Approval of initiated changed from any departments
• Monitoring of DCRN along with the targeted date & actual completion date and ensure change in all connected chain of documents.
• Monitor all the activities of Customer Development & Adaptation Center (CDAC).
• Ensure timely delivery of CDAC items and co-ordinate with marketing department to prioritize.

• Assembly and testing of samples given by customer for existing & new development products
• Study of customer samples, checking its feasibility in design & development stage
• Making flow charts, work instructions and other documents
• Familiar with usage of Design like Autocad, SolidWorks and Gearteq, etc.
• Giving inputs to sales marketing department about customer drawings
• Random checking of operations performed on the shop-floor.
• Should be well verse with using all checking instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge and Pin Gauges etc.
• Handling the team and internal work in absence of other colleague

System & MIS

Submission of MIS should be done on timely basis

ERP/Relevant software Implementation

Ensuring effective use of ERP/Relevant software for entire design function

Certifications

Follow all compliances with respect to UL, CSA, CE and other certifications.

Training & Development

• Conduct in house training for developing subordinates in - policies and procedures, protocols, M.I.S., Upgrade technical knowledge, ISO, ASME, Safety, CE, 5S, and other certification process.
• Provide training to Production, Quality Sales and Marketing departments about the assembly and its CTQ parameters in development stage.
