Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Demand Forecasting Analyst to optimize OMP forecasting for item/week/location, aligning with promotions, seasonality, and constraints.

The role operates 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM in Mumbai, requiring 3+ years of experience and knowledge of PEAK Demand, OMP, APO/JDA, and strong analytical skills to improve forecast accuracy and inventory efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education: Full-time graduation from an accredited university is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of PEAK Demand, hands-on with planning systems such as OMP, APO/JDA, and basic statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Review forecast and manage splits at Item/Week/Location level in OMP for rolling 5 months.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy metrics, biases, and trends; collaborate to meet KPIs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to reduce inventory and improve asset utilization.
  • Ensure data integrity in OMP across item/location/week and customer channels.
  • Drive continuous improvement of forecasting tools and processes.

This role requires you to operate in 1.30 pm to 10.30 pm shift.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES30% of Time - Reviewing forecast and managing splits at an Item/Week/Location level in OMP for rolling 5 months considering customer promotions management on complex desks with higher volatility, profitability. Manage seasonality & volatility with complex merch / rotations in Forecast considering business constraints.30% of Time - Analysis, Actions and reporting on key performance metrics such as forecast error, Trends, Bias, and Demand sensing and collaborating with Supply Planning teams to help achieve business KPI’s.20% of Time - Partner with Cross functional stakeholder to deliver actionable insights the company can use to reduce inventory, lower costs and improve capital asset utilization.15% of Time - Ensure data integrity in OMP at the item/location/week level across defined Customer channels. Leverage exists exception management reporting tools to drive improvement in forecast accuracy.5% of Time - Drive continuous improvement by examining existing OMP forecasting tools and processes and making improvements. Support projects and other efforts focused towards improving forecast accuracy and techniques. Training & Development of new external/internal hires.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Full-time graduation from an accredited university is mandatory.Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.Technical Skills: Demonstrate understanding of the PEAK Demand process, hands-on experience with planning systems such as OMP, Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), or JDA, and a basic understanding of statistical models and analysis.Basic knowledge of operations and inventory planning, experience leading process improvement initiatives, strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, and knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning and forecasting processes.Soft Skills: Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and strong collaboration, negotiation, influencing, learning agility, business acumen, integrity, teamwork, and demand management skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree - Major Area of Study in Operations, Supplychain5 years of related experienceProfessional Certifications: CSCMP, APICSExcel, Knowledge in ERP, and familiarity with functional package – SAP APOELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet minimum age qualifications in the country in which the job is located.
