About this role
You would be part of the global consulting delivery team of Gartner Consulting advising IT and business leaders on cost optimization, develop comparative insights and create new capabilities and market opportunities for some of our large customers across North America, EMEA and Japan regions. As a consultant in the India consulting team your role would be to deliver consulting engagements for our clients as part of the global team by demonstrating strong technology industry experience, business acumen, great learning attitude, problem solving and consultative skill and quality of execution.
What you’ll do
- Apply expert guidance and tools on consulting engagements to enable faster, smarter decisions and stronger performance on an organization’s most critical priorities.
- Articulate findings and implications on client software delivery techniques and provide fact‑based recommendations for improvements.
- Provide actionable, objective insights and recommendations within Enterprise Architecture including definition of target state architecture, stakeholder management, risk management, solution design and transition strategies.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of leading application design and architectural principles and best practices, hands on experience in large scale IT landscape.
- Make high impact client presentations with compelling storyboard, hypothesis and visualization to deliver actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal practice and industry leaders to contribute reusable solutions, proposals and Points of Views (POVs).
- Work as an individual contributor to deliver complex engagements.
What you’ll need
- 7+ years of total work experience in a consulting or industry role with 4+ years of dedicated experience operating within an Enterprise Architecture function.
- Experience across the architecture lifecycle and set of services, for example:
- Developing technology strategies
- Developing business aligned architecture visions / concepts
- Options development and assessment considering financial implications
- Technology Portfolio optimisation
- Technical design and delivery assurance & governance
- Solution design & delivery
- Architecture capability uplift – e.g. training junior or client architects, designing architecture processes
- Practical experience in applying and tailoring enterprise architecture frameworks and techniques (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF) to suit varying client environments.
- Comfortable with at least 2 architecture domains – Business, Data, Applications, Tech / Infrastructure & security.
- Experience with solution architecture and software development is preferred.
- Willingness to drive capability development of Gartner’s Enterprise Architecture offering.
- Knowledge of leading‑edge and emerging technologies that drive modern architecture such as cloud‑native platforms, microservices, continuous availability, integration platforms, and mesh application and service architecture.
- Strong foundational knowledge across multiple architecture domains, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, API strategy, ERP ecosystems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and data architecture.
- Experience in managing end‑to‑end large‑scale technology bids including requirement gathering, RFP/RFI development, market scan & vendor profiling, vendor evaluation, bid support during due diligence and BAFO phases.
- Strong technical capabilities coupled with the ability to clearly communicate the business value and bottom‑line impacts of technology decisions to a non‑technical audience.
- Customer facing experience – delivering presentations, workshops and working sessions will be an added advantage.
- Strong Excel, analytical, and visualization skills including PowerPoint.
