Job summary

IFTAS is seeking a hands-on Sr. Cloud Support Engineer to manage TKGS/VKS Kubernetes clusters and VMware-integrated environments in Hyderabad. You will own incidents, platform availability, security, and continuous improvements for hybrid workloads.

The role requires 4+ years of TKGS administration, strong troubleshooting, and experience with Helm/ArgoCD, Prometheus, and Grafana. CKAs and ITIL v4 are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of TKGS administration/ Kubernetes platform experience.
• CKA and ITIL V4 certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support TKGS/VKS Kubernetes clusters.
• Perform cluster provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, networking, storage, and VMware-related issues.
• Support application deployments using Helm and ArgoCD.
• Monitor platform health using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Manage logging with Fluent Bit/Fluentd.
• Support Istio, AVI Load Balancer, nginx, ingress and MinIO environments.
• Participate in incident response, RCA, and on-call support.
• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Application, and VMware support teams.

Job Description

Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Kubernetes Platform Engineer to support and operate mission-critical Tanzu Kubernetes environments. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, production support experience, and the ability to manage Kubernetes platforms running on VMware infrastructure. This role requires ownership of incidents, platform availability, security compliance, and continuous operational improvements.

Education

Experience

Minimum of 4+ years of experience in TKGS administration.

Certification

Knowledge

• Assist in the setup and lifecycle management of Supervisor and Tanzu Kubernetes clusters.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cluster components including control plane, worker nodes, pods, services, istio, nginx, ingress, volumes, and namespaces.
• Ensure integration with vSphere features such as HA, DRS, vSAN, and NSX-T.
• Maintain and update operational documentation, including SOPs and architecture diagrams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support hybrid workloads across containers and VMs.
• Implement and maintain security configurations like RBAC, network policies, and resource quotas.
• Use monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and vSphere-native solutions to ensure cluster health.
• Coordinate with VMware support for issue resolution and platform updates.
• Log and manage incidents using ITSM tools.
