Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a hands-on OMS Engineer to support and optimize IBM Sterling OMS and SIP environments. You will automate routine tasks, manage Operator-based deployments, and ensure Kubernetes infrastructure runs smoothly during upgrades and peak operations.

Experience required is 8-10 years, with strong skills in Docker, Kubernetes Operators, and CI/CD. The role involves building and maintaining deployment pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams.

Qualifications

• IBM Sterling OMS Admin and related domain expertise.
• Hands-on experience with deploying and managing Sterling OMS/SIP environments.
• Proficiency in containerization, IaC, and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build, troubleshoot, and modify application build scripts to package code into deployable Sterling OMS and SIP images.
• Maintain IaC scripts for fix pack installations and platform configurations.
• Modify and maintain Kubernetes deployment configurations using Operators and CRDs.
• Support platform upgrades, apply patches, and manage configuration changes across environments.
• Triage build failures, monitor pipelines, and resolve environment issues in the OMS/SIP stack.
• Collaborate with development and senior DevOps teams to package releases and ensure deploy readiness.
• Experience in environment management, deployment, or DevOps with IBM Sterling OMS processes.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes deployments, including ConfigMaps and Secrets.
• Scripting in Bash or Python for automation tasks.

• Responsibilities : Build Scripts: Write troubleshoot and modify application build scripts to package custom code extensions and factory setup data into deployable Sterling OMS and SIP container images. Script MaintenanceWrite troubleshoot and modify existing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts for IBM Sterling OMS and SIP fix pack installations. K8s Operator Deployments Modify and maintain deployment configurations leveraging Kubernetes Operators and CRDs to ensure smooth rollouts. Platform Support Execute routine platform upgrades apply patches and manage configuration changes across multiple environments via the Operator. Troubleshooting Monitor deployment pipelines triage build failures and resolve environmental issues related to the OMS/SIP stack. Collaboration Work closely with the development and senior DevOps teams to package releases and ensure code is deployment-ready. Good experience in environment management deployment or DevOps. Proven familiarity with IBM Sterling OMS build and deployment processes. Solid hands-on experience with Docker and modifying Kubernetes deployments using Operators CRDs ConfigMaps and Secrets. Experience running and maintaining build scripts for automation. Proficiency in version control (Git) and standard CI/CD tools. Comfortable scripting in Bash or Python for routine build and automation tasks.
