Job summary

UST in India is seeking an experienced Sr. Backend Developer with 10+ years of Java backend expertise to design, develop and deliver enterprise-grade applications.

You will lead technical efforts and collaborate with product and operations to ensure scalable, reliable cloud-native solutions. The role emphasizes Spring Boot, Microservices, GCP and SQL (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL), API gateways, CI/CD (Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, SONAR, Rundeck) and secure SDLC within an Agile/SAFe

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate and Microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, Web Services and API Gateways.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, SONAR, Nexus and Rundeck.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and SDLC security principles.
• Experience leading development teams of 10-15 members.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scaled Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise solutions using Java/J2EE following multi-tier architecture principles.
• Develop scalable applications using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with AWS or Azure is an added advantage.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, Web Services and Microservices with knowledge of API Management Gateways.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, SONAR and Rundeck.
• Ensure security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including secure coding standards.
• Analyze user stories, provide effort estimates and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Lead a team of 10–15 developers in designing, developing, deploying and supporting enterprise applications.
• Mentor team members by providing technical guidance, code reviews and troubleshooting support.
• Participate throughout the project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production support.
• Collaborate effectively in Agile and Scaled Agile development environments.
• Quickly adapt to emerging technologies and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.
