Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an experienced Lead SAP CPI developer to design, develop, and implement integration solutions across SAP Integration Suite and SAP Event Mesh. You will monitor API consumption, manage proxies, and support B2B/EDI workflows in a fast‑paced environment.

The role focuses on on‑prem and cloud integrations, with emphasis on API security, OAuth, certificates, and ITIL‑driven incident and change management.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of operational and production support experience across SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite.
• Event-Driven Architecture: hands-on experience with SAP Event Mesh (queues, topics, webhooks, dead-letter handling, AMQP).
• API Management: solid knowledge of SAP API Management (proxies, policies like API Key, Quota, Spike Arrest, CORS).
• B2B / EDI: experience troubleshooting ANSI X12, EDIFACT, AS2 and trading partner logs.
• Core CPI: SAP Cloud Connector, MPL, payload tracing, security artifacts (PGP, OAuth 2.0, certificates).
• ITIL: experience in Incident, Problem, Change Management, and SLA tracking.

Responsibilities

• Support development initiatives across Carrier entities including customer service, sales, logistics and B2B commerce.
• Design, develop and implement seamless integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite and Cloud Connector.
• Actively monitor message execution, API consumption and error spikes; manage queues and event subscriptions.
• Assist with onboarding and testing of new trading partners (AS2, SFTP, VAN).

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SAP CPI Developer with support expertise in SAP S/4HANA Cloud and On-Prem integration to design, develop, and implement seamless integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, API management, and cloud‑based integration architectures.

Job Responsibilities

The person in this role will be part of the development team that supports initiatives for all carrier entities, Commercial Excellence, Commercial Operations and Digital Commerce business units, inclusive of customer service, sales, marketing, B2B commerce, EDI, logistics and distribution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, API management, and cloud‑based integration architectures. This role reports to the Integration Lead at Carrier.

Requirements

• Monitoring & Triage:
  • Actively monitor message execution, queue build‑ups, dead‑letter queues (DLQ), and subscriptions within SAP Event Mesh and SAP Integration Suite.
  • Track API consumption, response times, and error spikes using SAP API Management analytical dashboards.
• Incident & Problem Management:
  • Perform root‑cause analysis (RCA) on failed payload transformations, broker connection drops, and adapter connectivity issues within defined SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot B2B/EDI transaction failures (e.g., ANSI X12 850/855/856, EDIFACT), EDI mapping errors, and AS2 transmission failures.
• API & Security Maintenance:
  • Support and maintain API proxies, rate‑limiting policies, quota configurations, and API keys/tokens in SAP API Management.
  • Manage key stores, renew expiring SSL/TLS certificates, update OAuth client secrets, and maintain SAP Cloud Connector endpoints.
• Queue & Event Management:
  • Manage message queues, handle unconsumed events, re‑trigger stuck event‑driven messages, and adjust queue subscriptions in Event Mesh.
• Minor Enhancements & Trading Partner Onboarding:
  • Perform minor bug fixes, update EDI value mappings, and adjust schema definitions without disrupting existing production interfaces.
  • Assist with operational onboarding and connection testing for new trading partners (AS2, SFTP, VAN setups).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of operational and production support experience across SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Hands‑on operational experience with SAP Event Mesh (queues, topics, webhooks, dead‑letter handling, AMQP protocol).
• API Management: Solid working knowledge of SAP API Management (API proxies, policies like API Key, Quota, Spike Arrest, and CORS handling).
• B2B / EDI Support: Experience troubleshooting EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT), AS2 adapters, value mappings, and trading partner communication logs.
• Core CPI Capabilities: Hands‑on experience with SAP Cloud Connector, message processing logs (MPL), payload tracing, and security artifacts (PGP, OAuth 2.0, Certificates).
• ITIL Framework: Demonstrated experience working in ITIL environments (Incident, Problem, Change Management, and SLA tracking).
• Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to coordinate across functional teams (SD, MM, FI), external vendors, and B2B trading partners.
