Job summary

The Souled Store in Mumbai is seeking a skilled Apparel Costing Specialist to manage garment cost sheets, analyze fabric costs, and negotiate with vendors for competitive quotes.

You will support margin analyses, work across merchandising, design and sourcing during development, and maintain cost databases to ensure targets are met in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline; 2–5 years in apparel costing, sourcing, or merchandising.
• Strong understanding of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, printing, embroidery, and washing processes.
• Proficient in MS Excel, cost calculations, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate garment cost sheets for knitwear products.
• Analyze fabric, trims, printing, embroidery, washing, packing, and logistics costs.
• Work with vendors to obtain quotations and negotiate costs.
• Evaluate cost breakdowns and identify cost-optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate with merchandising, design, product development, and sourcing during product development; maintain cost databases.
• Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and manufacturing costs.
• Support margin analysis and costing approvals for new developments and bulk orders.
• Ensure costing accuracy and adherence to target prices.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate cost breakdowns and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with merchandising, design, product development, and sourcing teams during product development. Maintain cost databases and ensure timely updates of material and manufacturing costs.
• Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and manufacturing costs.
• Support margin analysis and costing approvals for new developments and bulk orders.
• Ensure costing accuracy and adherence to target prices.

Requirement

• Graduate in any discipline. 2–5 years of experience in apparel costing, sourcing, or merchandising.
• Strong understanding of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, printing, embroidery, and washing processes.
• Good negotiation and analytical skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Google sheets and cost calculations.
• Experience in knitwear/apparel sourcing preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple developments simultaneously.
