Eaton Technologies in Pune, India is seeking an experienced SCM professional to manage material planning and procurement within the Global Supply Chain CoE. The role reports to SCM Materials and focuses on delivering high-impact projects aligned with strategic objectives for materials management.

You will collaborate with engineering, product managers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, optimize inventory, and drive continuous improvement across purchasing and logistics processes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate with a Master’s degree in Materials / Production / Operations Management.
  • 10–13 years of experience in SCM.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive improvements in operational buyers roles across the CoE.
  • Procure direct materials following plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM).
  • Coordinate with network schedulers for plan and execution updates.
  • Provide POs to suppliers after understanding material requirements and requisitions.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials to the plant.
  • Manage exceptions and internal escalations (postponement/anticipation/cancellation).
  • Resolve internal discrepancies with operations and supplier issues (delivery, claims, quality).
  • Work with logistics partners and suppliers for material delivery per incoterms.
  • Monitor supply performance and implement corrective actions with suppliers and category managers.
  • Manage supplier invoices and assist in resolving holds for timely payments.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels with inputs from inventory analysts and schedulers.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality for RMA and reverse logistics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Managers for ECN management.
  • Maintain purchasing data (price trends, lead times, MOQs) with Data Health team.
  • Share best practices and drive process standards in materials planning.

Job description

What you ll do:

This Position is part of part of the Materials in the Global Supply Chain CoE reporting to the Manager SCM Materials. The primary role is to handle Material Management activities for ESA IBP1 Business..This role would also include in deliveries high impactful projects and achieving Strategic objectives of the Materials function .

Roles & Responsibilities

"This individual will be responsible for collaborating with a cross-functional set of stakeholders across the business, to drive improvements in operational buyers roles across the CoE.

  • Procures direct materials following plant and corporate regulations (QA, SCM)
  • Communicates and coordinates with network schedulers for plan and execution updates.
  • Understands material requirements and processes requisitions to provide POs to suppliers.
  • Works closely with suppliers to ensure on time delivery of material at plant.
  • Executes exception messages (postponement / anticipation / cancellation of orders) and manage internal escalations.
  • Resolving internal discrepancies with operations and external issues with suppliers (e.g. delivery issues, claims, quality issues etc.)
  • Works closely with logistics partners and suppliers for material delivery as per incoterms
  • Evaluates and monitors supply performance (SOTD) and works with suppliers and category managers to implement corrective/preventive actions for on time performance improvement.
  • Supplier invoice management and support in resolution of holds for timely payments.
  • Maintains inventory levels of materials in accordance with the objectives set and works with inputs from inventory analysts and network schedulers for optimized inventory level.
  • Coordinates with Supplier Quality and suppliers for RMA of defective parts and related reverse logistics
  • Works with Engineering, Products Managers and CMs for phase-in/out(ECN mgmt.)
  • Maintains relevant purchasing data (specific to Price through SPIR policy) and other purchasing data (e.g., unit price change, supplier lead time, MOQ, MOV, single/dual sourced, and so on) in collaboration with Data Health and Commodity team
  • Utilizes all digital tools available for SCM for maximized efficiency.
  • Responsible for sharing with the team, best materials management practices, continuous improvement of process, development of process standards, compliance with materials planning processes, and reporting in alignment with the network and global supply chain organization
  • Resolve DC /Plant Putaway Issues.
Purchasing Escalations
  • Work suppliers and sourcing team to expedite escalated shortages to meet revenue goals.
  • Identity root cause of shortage (purchasing process, supplier performance, credit hold issues, etc.) and develop corrective action.
  • Lead improvement project to implement corrective actions.
  • Best practice sharing with buyers on how to resolve without future escalations.
Purchasing Excellence
  • Use purchasing expertise to drive purchasing metric improvements.
  • Help standardize best practices across sites.
  • Review supplier invoices and co-ordinate with AP for payments.
  • Collaborate with materials management and buying teams to update LTs and stocking levels to ensure uninterrupted supply."
Qualifications

Should be Graduate with Master s degree (Preferably into Materials / Production / Operations Management) Engineering Graduate

10-13 years of experience in SCM
