Job summary

Vizen Life Sciences Pvt Ltd is seeking a Senior Process Chemist to lead a high-performing team focused on analytical method development and process optimization for small molecules. You will oversee safety culture, coaching, and career development while driving technology transfer and PAT initiatives.

The role requires a PhD in Chemistry with extensive experience in process chemistry and analytical methods, including LC/GC and mass spectrometry, to support manufacturing scale-up.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry; 12+ years in process chemistry preferred.
• Postdoc experience in chemistry relevant to process development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safety culture lab management:
• To ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment in the laboratory premises are available and follows the safety precautions.
• Ensure the good administration and housekeeping of the PRD department work area.
• People Leadership
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of process chemists aligned with Lilly culture.
• Set clear objectives, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.
• Promote a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, safety, and compliance.
• Work as a team and take responsibility with accountability.
• Scientific & Technical Leadership
• Understand the scientific principles required for analytical and semi-preparative scale separation of manufacturing intermediates and drug substances in small molecules
• Understand the chemistry and stability of small molecules
• Hands-on experience in developing analytical methods for key process steps in synthesis of small molecules in commercial stage
• Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to deepen process understanding and optimize reaction conditions
• Understand analytical instrumentation including LC, GC, titration, and mass spectrometry and expertise in PAT tools
• Provide technical support to process development areas if needed
• Participate in technology transfer of analytical methods
• Document all work in an appropriate manner

Qualification & Experience

• Ph.D. in scientific disciplines of Chemistry and Analytical chemistry /Ph.D + Post Doc in Chemistry (focusing more process chemistry) with 12+ years
