Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. in Pune seeks a Senior Technical Lead with 12+ years in DCS/ICSS projects. You will own design, development, testing, and commissioning activities, including FAT with customers, and lead a team to deliver technically robust solutions.

You will coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and engineers to ensure schedule and budget adherence while developing standards and templates for complex loops. Strong domain knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years hands-on experience in DCS/Control systems design, development, testing and commissioning.
• Experience with site commissioning and FAT with customer.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility of Technical Lead in the project or Lead Individual Units within large projects – DCS, ESD, F&G systems (ICSS projects).
• Deliver technically correct solutions within schedule and budget.
• Work with Engineering Supervisor, Leads and Project Manager.
• Develop Functional Design Specifications/Architecture/BOM.
• Carry out Hardware/Software Detail Design Engineering, Testing, Integration, FAT, Commissioning.
• Develop templates and standards for complex loops.
• Read P&IDs, Control Narratives, and Logic diagrams.
• Monitor work scope against project plan and manage risks/opportunities.
• Ensure final deliverables meet customer requirements and quality standards.
• Site visits for progress monitoring, pre-commissioning and handover.

Travel: 20-30% (as per project requirement)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To take responsibility of Technical Lead in the project or Lead Individual Units within large projects – DCS. ESD, F&G systems (ICSS projects)

• Ownership to deliver technically correct solution to customers within agreed schedule and budget

• Work closely with Engineering Supervisor, other Leads and Project Manager.

• Understand the customer’s project Specifications, RFQ, Architecture, etc.,

• To develop Functional Design Specification/ Design specs / Architecture / BOM

• To Independently carry out Control System Hardware and Software Detail Design Engineering (including HMI), Application Development, Testing, Integration of Hardware, FAT with customer at factory as per project duration, Site Commissioning, system Cut-over’s, Loop Checking.

• To develop Typical / Templates for Complex Loops and develop project specific standards

• To read, understand P&IDs, Control Narratives, Logic diagrams, etc.

• Monitor and control assigned work scope against the project plan, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities

• Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process and ensure the work completion by engaging pool of engineers

• Site visit to monitor site progress, participate in customer meetings, pre-commissioning, commissioning and hand over the project to customer / LSS team.

• Ensure group work in compliance with quality / safety procedures. Identify possible improvement opportunities and manage their implementation

• Ensure common methods, techniques, tools and products as agreed by the knowledge communities / Process Owner Group (POG) Leaders are being effectively applied and provide feedback for future improvement

• Ensures that the implementation of application engineers is reviewed with respect to project standards and quality documents

• Ensures that the final deliverable meets the functional specifications of the customer by doing thorough quality checks

• Usage of engineering tools for optimization of Engineering man hours

Technical Skills:

Should have minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in:

• DCS / Safety PLC / PLC (preferably on Honeywell Systems) – Design, Detail engineering, Testing and Commissioning

• Third party systems interface – Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC (UA, DA, HDA, A&E), ProfiNet, Profibus and similar.

• HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus

• Advanced L2/L3 nodes – Alarm, History, Asset, Network Management

• Networking Knowledge: TCP/IP protocols, Switch/Router and domain controller configurations.

• Virtualization of control nodes – added advantage

• Domain knowledge – Refinery, Petrochemicals, Pipeline, Power, Renewables
