A Sr. Accountant in a pharmaceutical formulations plant is responsible for managing financial accounting, statutory compliance, costing, taxation, inventory accounting, and financial reporting activities of the manufacturing unit. The role ensures accurate maintenance of accounts, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial control over production and operational expenses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records, vouchers, ledgers, and bank transactions.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
• Monitor production costing, batch costing, and inventory valuation of raw materials, packing materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors for internal, statutory, and tax audits.
• Manage vendor payments, reconciliations, and customer outstanding reports.
• Verify purchase orders, invoices, debit/credit notes, and stock transactions.
• Support budgeting, financial planning, and cost control activities.
• Maintain proper documentation as per pharmaceutical industry and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with production, stores, QA, and procurement departments for financial data and stock reconciliation.
• Handle ERP/accounting software entries and reporting.
