Key Responsibilities
Advanced Alteryx Workflow Engineering
- Design, develop and maintain complex ETL/ELT workflows using Alteryx Designer.
- Build reusable Standard, Batch and Iterative Macros, along with Analytic Apps.
- Implement sophisticated data transformations, business rules, dynamic inputs/outputs, reconciliation and data-quality controls.
- Develop scalable workflows capable of handling complex, multi-source and high-volume datasets.
Performance Engineering and Troubleshooting
- Optimise workflow execution time, memory utilisation and processing efficiency.
- Apply AMP Engine tuning, In-DB processing, database pushdown and efficient data transformation techniques.
- Diagnose workflow failures, schema mismatches, data conversion issues and connectivity problems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for recurring production incidents.
Alteryx Server and Platform Operations
- Deploy, publish, schedule, monitor and maintain production workflows using Alteryx Server or Alteryx One, as applicable.
- Manage workflow dependencies, versioning, credentials, permissions and execution monitoring.
- Troubleshoot scheduling failures, resource constraints, execution queues and platform connectivity.
- Support platform stability, environment management and controlled deployments.
SQL and Enterprise Data Integration
- Develop complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions and data-validation logic.
- Integrate Alteryx with Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and other enterprise data sources.
- Work with APIs and structured or semi-structured data, including JSON, XML, CSV and Excel.
- Implement incremental processing, duplicate detection, data reconciliation and automated reporting pipelines.
Identity and Access Management
- Support Alteryx integration with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity-management systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot SCIM-based user and group provisioning, including synchronisation and deprovisioning.
- Collaborate with IAM and infrastructure teams on role-based access, permissions, authentication and audit requirements.
Production Ownership and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Own technical delivery across requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
- Maintain technical specifications, source-to-target mappings, workflow documentation and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with Investor Operations, Client Reporting, application teams and enterprise technology stakeholders.
- Communicate technical findings, risks, root causes and remediation plans clearly and proactively.
Mandatory Technical Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
- Experience: 6–12 years of relevant professional experience.
- Alteryx certification: Valid Alteryx Designer Core Certification or higher — mandatory.
- Alteryx Designer: Advanced, hands‑on experience developing complex production workflows.
- Macros: Practical experience developing Standard, Batch and Iterative Macros.
- Performance optimisation: Strong understanding of AMP Engine, memory utilisation, efficient processing and workflow tuning.
- SQL and ETL/ELT: Strong hands‑on SQL development, data transformation, integration and reconciliation.
- Platform operations: Experience deploying, scheduling, monitoring and supporting workflows on Alteryx Server or Alteryx One.
- Production support: Proven troubleshooting, incident resolution and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Alteryx Designer Advanced or Expert Certification.
- Experience in Private Equity, Investment Management, Investor Operations or Client Reporting.
- Administration of Alteryx Server components, including Gallery, Controller, Worker and Scheduler.
- Microsoft Entra ID, SCIM 2.0 and enterprise identity provisioning.
- Python and Pandas for data processing and automation.
- Snowflake integration and SQL performance optimisation.
- Alteryx Server APIs, REST APIs and workflow orchestration.
- Git-based version control and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with financial data reconciliation, data governance and audit controls.
What We Value
We value engineers who demonstrate technical depth, analytical thinking, attention to data accuracy and a strong sense of ownership. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on complex technical challenges while collaborating effectively across business and technology teams.
This is a hands‑on engineering role.
Candidates whose experience is limited to basic Alteryx workflows, without practical macro development, performance optimisation, SQL proficiency and production support, may not meet the requirements.
