Job summary

Infovision Labs in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a senior QA leader with 13+ years of experience in software/hardware testing to spearhead release validation for the Flexpay6 family across platforms. You will lead and mentor the QA team, coordinate release activities, and collaborate with product and development to ensure quality and timely deliveries.

The role requires strong automation, test planning, and experience with CI/CD tools.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE

Essential:

13+ years of experience in software/hardware/development testing using testing methodologies and processes

Tertiary qualification in engineering/electronics

Expertise in designing and executing automated tests

Experience in design and implementation of validation procedures, test plans, and test cases

Experience in firmware testing, hardware-software integration, and validating low-level embedded software, including creating automated applications to validate embedded firmware

Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI to automate testing processes and ensure faster releases

Understanding software development and testing lifecycle

Experience working with Agile development methodology

Strong work ethic and possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, multi-task and adapt to an on-going, progressively changing work environment.

Able to demonstrate an example of testing maturity with regards to measurability and repeatability

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Occasional travel may be required for business purposes.

Desirable:

Java or C++ experience

Proficiency with handling test automation frameworks (eg, TestNG)

Ability to implement automated regression testing and performance benchmarks

Proficiency in Linux commands and scripting

Experience of projects within the retail petroleum automation sector /payments systems

Knowledge of security aspects like cryptographic algorithms and key management used in EMV transactions.

Skilled in designing automated solutions for testing middleware functionality and performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Responsibilities include:

1.Leadership and management

Lead, mentor and guide the QA test team from release perspective

Responsible for resource planning for the team (budget and additional resource motivation, recruiting, assignments etc)

Performance management of the team (performance reviews, disciplinary matters)

Build strong relationships with the team

Reporting to manager as required

Develop the skills of the team including development plans for individuals

Support the company’s HR policies and practices

Live the company values daily

Accountable to the quality of platform software deliveries

2.Coordination and planning

Coordinating and planning Release delivery activities, understanding resource availability, product priorities and customer commitments.

Track and report progress of release activities to stakeholders, providing transparency and timely updates

Plans with Test Manager, drives and takes ownership of the release validation schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.

Lead and mentor QA team members through feedback, motivation and career guidance/growth

Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning

3. Communication and reporting

Information regarding upcoming deliverables gathered, documented and communicated as required

Works collaboratively with Feature Test team, to understand the new feature additions.

Works with Test Manager on Release Test plan scope and communicates them to QA team

Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities, including tracking and reporting with appropriate metrics.

Representing Test Exit discussions for any platform release and plans for pre-exit discussions, if necessary

Ensures that Test Manager and Project Manager are updated and informed of issues and looped into any communications.

To provide physical support on site or be physically onsite as and when required.

Ensure that monthly QA KPI metrics, Release QA KPI Metrics are well documented and articulated

Effective ITP burndown discussions and related metrics are planned and executed.

4.Product Test Expert

To be a "Go-To" person for all the release validation related asks - for Flexpay6 Family of devices and products, across platforms.

Analyze the trend in test pattern (KPI metrics)

Utilize and develop test improvement plans

Participate in release readiness reviews and provide expert recommendations on quality and risk assessment.

Track regression, performance, integration and Security related testing

Regularly review defects and performance metrics for delivery testing and conduct failure analysis on product issues reported - implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

5. Regression validation and documentation

Contribute to test strategy and test plans from analysis of business requirements, test estimates and development schedules. Ensure Test plan contains complete test coverage of functionality and features delivered

Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases that aligns with objectives

Facilitate execution of test cases thoroughly to identify defects as early as possible in the Software Testing Life Cycle, helping to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)

Implement repeatable and measurable testing processes, ensuring regression testing covers all delivered functionalities

Manage testing workload efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Prepare Test Exit Reports adhering to the QA workflow

Verify accuracy and completeness of delivered software documentation - user guides, specifications

6. Product Testing

Execute product testing activities necessary for successful delivery.

Participate in testing performance evaluations , ensuring quality standards are met.

Ensure versions can be tracked and reverted as required

7. Quality Assurance

Continually seek ways to improve and enhance the quality assurance process and the process of application development and maintenance.

Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met

Own QA deliverables for multiple product lines or projects.

Make recommendations for process improvements where appropriate.

8. Development Process and Continuous Improvement

Follow agile methodology

Actively use, advocate, and seek to continuously improve organization procedures and processes for software validation

Escalate issues and delays in a timely manner

Evaluate status quo and apply best practice

Set up and maintain processes and procedures where required

Reporting around planned activities, progress, and performance

Use existing systems and processes - JIRA, Confluence, Time Logging, Project Planning etc to plan and execute work

9. Technology

Contribute when required to QA roadmap in conjunction with product management.
