Job summary

SharpStakes is seeking a Spine Animator to join its growing Game Development team as it expands into iGaming and slot games. You will create high-quality 2D animations for slot games using Spine and After Effects, animate characters and symbols, and develop effects for wins, bonuses, and free spins.

You will collaborate with Artists and Game Developers to ensure animations are polished, optimized, and integrated into the game, while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in 2D animation, especially Spine and After Effects.
• Strong understanding of skeletal animation, rigging, and timing.
• Experience in iGaming, slot games, or casino game development preferred.

We're looking for a Spine Animator to join our growing Game Development team as we expand into the iGaming and slot gaming industry. This role is ideal for someone with strong 2D animation skills, proficiency in Spine and After Effects, and a good understanding of animation workflows for slot games.

You'll work closely with our Artists and Game Developers to bring characters, symbols, game features, and visual effects to life, creating engaging animations that enhance the overall player experience.

What You’ll Do

• Create high-quality 2D animations for slot games using Spine Animation and Adobe After Effects.
• Animate characters, symbols, reels, backgrounds, transitions, and other in-game elements.
• Develop animations for slot game features, including wins, bonuses, free spins, and special effects.
• Work with existing visual assets provided by the Art Team, bringing them to life through animation.
• Collaborate with Artists and Game Developers to ensure animations are visually consistent, optimized, and properly integrated into the game.
• Refine animations based on creative direction, technical requirements, and team feedback.
• Manage assigned animation tasks and deliver projects within agreed timelines.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in 2D animation, particularly using Spine Animation and Adobe After Effects.
• Strong understanding of skeletal animation, rigging, keyframing, timing, and motion principles.
• Previous experience working in iGaming, slot gaming studios, or casino game development is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with slot game mechanics, animation sequences, and visual effects commonly used in casino-style games.
• Ability to work with pre-designed game assets and translate static artwork into polished animations.
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and consistency in animation quality.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Organized, responsive, and able to manage deadlines and revisions in a fast-paced environment.
• A portfolio demonstrating relevant 2D animation work, preferably including Spine animations or slot game projects.
