Job summary

Novonesis seeks a Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end sourcing, purchasing, contract administration, and supplier performance for assigned categories and projects. The role ensures fit-for-purpose goods and services at optimal total cost and ensures compliance with policies and contractual requirements.

You will work with technical, project, finance, legal, and logistics stakeholders, delivering value through competitive tendering, negotiation, and disciplined supplier management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, commerce, or related discipline.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract administration, and commercial negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing competitive tenders, supplier evaluations, purchase orders, contracts, claims, and variations.
  • Working knowledge of contract principles, procurement governance, import and export procedures, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in SAP or a comparable ERP or e-procurement system, together with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and Tender Management: Translate business and technical requirements into procurement strategies, scopes of work, and tender schedules.
  • Conduct market research and identify, prequalify, and evaluate capable suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Prepare and issue information requests and tenders, and complete tender packages.
  • Coordinate technical and commercial bid evaluations, clarifications, and award recommendations with relevant stakeholders.
  • Commercial Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiations on price, total cost of ownership, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, liabilities, service levels, and other commercial conditions.
  • Draft purchase orders, contracts, and framework agreements for review and signature in coordination with Legal and relevant control functions.
  • Ensure contractual terms reflect approved scope, commercial agreement, and risk allocation.
  • Contract Administration and Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and milestones.
  • Maintain complete procurement records and resolve issues in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Risk, Claims, and Change Management: Identify and assess risks and implement mitigation measures; support project manager in evaluating claims and changes.
  • Assess cost, schedule, and contractual impact of proposed changes; track changes against contract baseline.
  • Value Delivery, Compliance, and Stakeholder Coordination: Identify cost-reduction opportunities and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, finance, legal, quality, and logistics teams; prepare status reports and management presentations.
  • Participate in supplier and project meetings as commercial and procurement representative.

Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist manages end-to-end sourcing, purchasing, contract administration, and supplier performance for assigned categories and projects. The role secures fit-for-purpose goods and services at optimal total cost, ensures compliance with company policies and contractual requirements, mitigates commercial and supply risks, and supports timely project delivery. Working closely with technical, project, finance, legal, and logistics stakeholders, the specialist delivers measurable value through competitive tendering, effective negotiation, and disciplined supplier management.


Key Responsibilities


  • Sourcing and Tender Management

  • Translate business and technical requirements into clear procurement strategies, scopes of work, and tender schedules.

  • Conduct market research and identify, prequalify, and evaluate capable suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

  • Prepare and issue requests for information, proposals, and quotations, as well as complete tender packages.

  • Coordinate technical and commercial bid evaluations, clarifications, and award recommendations with relevant stakeholders.

  • Commercial Negotiation and Contracting

  • Lead negotiations on price, total cost of ownership, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, liabilities, service levels, and other commercial conditions within delegated authority.

  • Develop negotiation strategies using cost, market, supplier, and risk analyses.

  • Draft purchase orders, contracts, and framework agreements for review and signature in coordination with Legal and relevant control functions.

  • Ensure contractual terms accurately reflect the approved scope, commercial agreement, and risk allocation.

  • Contract Administration and Supplier Performance

  • Monitor supplier and contractor performance against contractual obligations, milestones, service levels, quality requirements, and delivery schedules.

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable procurement and contract records.

  • Resolve delivery, quality, payment, and documentation issues in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and follow through on corrective and improvement actions.

  • Risk, Claims, and Change Management

  • Identify and assess commercial, contractual, supplier, logistics, and schedule risks, and implement practical mitigation measures.

  • Support the Project Manager in evaluating and managing claims, disputes, variations, and change orders.

  • Assess the cost, schedule, and contractual impact of proposed changes before approval.

  • Track approved changes against the contract baseline and maintain supporting records.

  • Value Delivery, Compliance, and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Identify and deliver cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, value-engineering, and process-improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval requirements, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Coordinate requirements, priorities, and decisions with project, engineering, finance, legal, quality, and logistics teams.

  • Prepare procurement status reports, savings analyses, risk updates, and management presentations.

  • Participate in supplier, contractor, client, and project meetings as the commercial and procurement representative.


Required Qualifications And Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, business administration, commerce, or related discipline.

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract administration, and commercial negotiation, preferably in engineering, capital projects, manufacturing, or construction.

  • Demonstrated experience managing competitive tenders, supplier evaluations, purchase orders, contracts, claims, and variations.

  • Working knowledge of contract principles, procurement governance, import and export procedures, and logistics.

  • Proficiency in SAP or a comparable ERP or e-procurement system, together with Microsoft Office applications.

  • A recognized procurement or supply chain qualification is an advantage.
