Job summary

Novartis Healthcare Private Limited in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a strategic Procurement professional to lead AI-enabled sourcing and supplier management, delivering value through AI-powered insights, automation, and innovative contracts. You will build AI prototypes, support RFPs, and partner across Business, IT, Data & Digital to drive process transformation.

Prior experience in Strategic Sourcing and supplier governance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as an AI champion within Procurement, continuously evaluating emerging AI technologies and translating them into business applications.
• Identify and implement high-value AI use cases across sourcing, category management, supplier management, contracting, analytics, and operations.
• Partner with Business, IT, Data & Digital to drive AI-enabled process transformation and productivity improvements.
• Build prototypes, proofs-of-concepts, and scalable AI solutions to improve decision-making, compliance, and efficiency.
• Support category strategy execution, RFP processes, supplier engagement, and negotiations using AI-driven insights.

Job description

Deliver procurement value by combining category management, supplier management, and AI-enabled solutions to support business objectives. The role is responsible for executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier performance and contracts, and applying emerging AI technologies, including AI agents, to enhance procurement efficiency, automation, and decision-making.

About the Role

Major Accountabilities

• Act as an AI champion within Procurement, continuously evaluating, learning, and adopting emerging AI technologies, tools, and industry innovations, and translating them into practical business applications.
• Connect procurement expertise with AI capabilities to identify, prioritize, and implement high-value use cases across sourcing, category management, supplier management, contracting, analytics, and operational processes.
• Partner with Business, IT, Data & Digital, and external partners to drive AI-enabled process transformation, intelligent automation, and productivity improvements.
• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and scalable AI solutions that improve decision-making, user experience, compliance, operational efficiency, and value delivery.
• Support category strategy execution, RFP execution, supplier engagement, negotiation and sourcing initiatives by leveraging AI-driven insights, analytics, predictive intelligence, and automation capabilities.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, commercial negotiations, and supplier performance governance where required, ensuring delivery against agreed KPIs and business objectives.
• Establish and promote AI best practices, knowledge sharing, experimentation, and continuous innovation within the Procurement organization to ensure ongoing adoption of future AI technologies and capabilities.
• Hands-on experience in building, configuring, and deploying AI Agents using modern AI platforms
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and procurement requirements into AI-enabled solutions and use cases.
• Passion for continuous learning with a proven ability to rapidly evaluate, adopt, and apply new AI tools and innovations as they emerge
• Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Supplier Management, Contract Management, or Procurement Operations. (Nice to Have)
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier lifecycle management, spend analytics, and procurement technology platforms.
• Experience identifying and implementing AI use cases within Procurement, Supply Chain, Shared Services, or Enterprise Function.
