Job summary

Bajaj Auto Ltd. in India is seeking an experienced design engineer to create parametric solid models from surfaces and 2D sketches, and to generate detailed 2D drawings with full GD&T.

You will perform 3D interface checks with surrounding parts and modify models quickly to resolve DFMs. You should be proficient in Creo, UG NX or Catia, and TeamCenter Engineering, with strong MS PowerPoint and Excel skills to communicate interfaces and present findings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering or higher is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in design engineering.
• Experience creating parametric solid models and 2D drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create parametric solid models from surfaces and 2D sketches.
• Produce 2D drawings with complete GD&T.
• Check 3D interfaces with surrounding parts and highlight clearances/interferences.
• Modify solid models quickly to address DFMs and interface issues.
• Communicate interface issues through PowerPoint and Excel.

Job Description Creation of Parametric Solid models from surfaces

Creation of Parametric Solid models from 2D sketches / 2D & 3D layouts as per best or as required modelling practices

Interface checks in 3D, with surrounding parts and highlighting clearance / interferecne issues, if any

Quick modification of solid models based on DFM, interface issues

Communicating interface isssues through power point presentations, Excel etc

Creation of 2D drawings of these parts with complete GD&T

Incorporation of various mounting features as part of solid model

Basic Competencies Expertise in Creo or UG NX or Catia

Expertise in TeamCenter Engineering

MS Office incuding Power point and Excel

Expertise in preparing 2D drawings & Knowledge of GD&T

Proficiencies Basic Knowledge of design of Injection and blow molded parts Basic Knowledge of design of Sheet metal fabricated parts Basic Knowledge of design of Aluminium die cast parts

Basic Knowledge of Plastic Injection molding process & tools Baisc Knowledge of design of tubular fabricated parts Baisc Knowledge of design of Aluminium & steel forged parts

Preferred experience Experience in working with Automotive or 2 Wheeler plastic parts like fairings, seat cowls, fenders, seat assy, air filters, fans, cowlings, coolant tank Experience in working with Automotive or 2 Wheeler P&F parts like fuel tanks, frames, brackets, guards, step holders, exhaust systems Experience in working with Automotive or 2 Wheeler parts like Alloy wheels, grab handles, step holders, crankcases,cylinder heads, covers, crankshafts, conrods, valve train parts, springs, gears, shafts, etc
