Job summary

KBR, Inc. invites an experienced Specialist – Project Coordinator to lead engineering execution for large FEED, EPC, and EPCM projects across Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, LNG and Fertilizer sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience delivering FEED, EPC or EPCM projects in energy sectors.
  • Experience with international and Indian clients is desirable.

Specialist – Project Coordinator

KBR is seeking a highly experienced Specialist – Project Coordinator to lead and coordinate the engineering execution of large, complex projects across a diverse portfolio, including Oil & Gas (Onshore and Offshore), Refining, Petrochemicals, LNG, and Fertilizer sectors. This role serves as a key engineering and project coordination focal point, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering activities within budget, schedule, quality, and client requirements. The Specialist Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration, effective stakeholder management, and successful project execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Engineering Delivery
  • Lead and coordinate engineering execution activities for large and complex FEED, EPC, EPCM, and portfolio projects.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project scope, client specifications, quality standards, budget and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective collaboration and alignment across all project phases.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and implement corrective actions to support project objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and integration between engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement, construction and client teams.
  • Support project planning activities, including scope definition, execution strategies, resource planning, schedules and deliverable tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, client requirements and HSE regulations.
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Serve as a primary engineering interface between the client and project team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technical reviews, progress meetings, and project status discussions with clients and management.
  • Provide timely updates on project performance, key risks, critical issues and mitigation plans.
Risk, Quality & Performance Management
  • Identify engineering and project execution risks and support development of effective mitigation strategies.
  • Drive issue resolution and facilitate decision‑making across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Ensure engineering quality is maintained throughout project execution.
  • Support management of project changes and ensure alignment with approved project objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and best engineering practices.
Proposal & Business Support
  • Support proposal development activities, including scope definition, engineering estimates, execution planning and technical inputs.
  • Contribute to project execution strategies and resource planning for new opportunities.
  • Assist leadership in developing engineering solutions that meet client and business objectives.
Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability and high‑performance team culture.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and project team members where required.
  • Drive effective communication and knowledge sharing across project teams.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Experience in Project Management, Project Coordination, Engineering Management or Engineering Delivery within the Energy and Process Industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering activities for FEED, EPC and EPCM projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project execution methodologies across Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, LNG and Fertilizer sectors.
  • Proven experience working with both international and Indian clients.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering coordination and interface management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Experience in risk identification, issue resolution and change management processes.
  • Commitment to ethical business practices and adherence to company values.
  • Understanding of environmental, sustainability and regulatory considerations in engineering design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management qualification is preferred.
  • Experience in large‑scale offshore and onshore capital projects.
  • Exposure to portfolio project management and integrated project delivery environments.
