Job summary

KBR is seeking a detail-oriented Specialist, IT Asset Administration (SAM) to join its global team in Chennai. The role manages the end-to-end software lifecycle, including administration, procurement, tracking, and compliance, in collaboration with IT, vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include handling SAM requests in ServiceNow, maintaining records, optimizing license usage, performing reconciliations, and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline.
• 5+ years in Software Asset Management or ITAM.
• Strong experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and contract management.
• Knowledge of software licensing models and compliance.
• Experience in procurement, invoicing, and financial reconciliation.
• Experience with audits and vendor audits.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage SAM requests and incidents in ServiceNow and ensure timely resolution.
• Keep accurate records of licenses, entitlements, contracts and procurement.
• Support end-to-end software lifecycle: procurement, deployment, renewal, reclamation.
• Coordinate software purchasing, vendor quotes, renewals and contract admin.
• Process purchase requisitions and procurement transactions.
• Perform invoice reconciliation against POs and vendor agreements.
• Investigate license discrepancies and procurement issues.
• Configure/Search ServiceNow SAM Pro for discovery, normalization and compliance.
• Monitor license utilization and identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop reports and dashboards for governance and audits.

Specialist, IT Asset Administration (SAM)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to join our global team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end software lifecycle, including administration, procurement, tracking, and compliance. You will work closely with IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support software operations, financial processes, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Manage Software Asset Management requests and incidents within ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
• Maintain accurate software asset, license, entitlement, contract, subscription, and procurement records.
• Support the end-to-end software lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, utilization, renewal, reclamation, and retirement activities.
• Coordinate software purchasing, vendor quotations, renewals, and contract administration activities.
• Create and manage purchase requisitions and support procurement processes in accordance with business requirements.
• Process goods receipts, purchase order updates, cancellations, and related procurement transactions.
• Perform invoice reconciliation and validation against purchase orders, contracts, software entitlements, and vendor agreements.
• Investigate and resolve procurement, billing, licensing, pricing, and payment discrepancies.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro to support software discovery, normalization, reconciliation, compliance monitoring, and license management.
• Monitor software licensing utilization, identify compliance risks, and support optimization opportunities through license reclamation and cost management initiatives.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, operational metrics, and audit-ready records to support Software Asset Management governance.
• Support software compliance reviews, internal audits, vendor audits, and audit-readiness activities.
• Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Finance, and vendors to improve software asset management processes, data quality, and workflow automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or related technology asset-management functions.
• Strong hands‑on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and Contract Management.
• Knowledge of software licensing models, entitlement management, software compliance, and software lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting software procurement, purchase requisitions, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation activities.
• Experience supporting software compliance programs, vendor audits, and audit-readiness initiatives.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and vendor‑management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, audit‑ready records.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro) certification.
• ITIL Foundation, IAITAM, or Software Asset Management‑related certifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Costpoint, Microsoft Intune, or other procurement and financial management systems.
• Familiarity with major software publishers and cloud/SaaS licensing models.
• Experience supporting global Software Asset Management programs and enterprise software compliance initiatives.
• Knowledge of workflow automation, reporting, and continuous process improvement within ServiceNow.
