Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) seeks an Associate Purchasing Specialist to manage cradle-to-grave procurement activities within a global EPC context for oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical sectors. You will coordinate with Engineering and Projects to ensure timely procurement actions and compliant contract execution.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering qualification and have 3+ years of procurement/SCM experience, with strong MS Office skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Qualifications

  • Engineering background with SCM or business preferred.
  • 3+ years in Procurement/SCM with a global EPC co in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, etc.
  • Experience in bid, evaluate, award, execution of agreements, changes, pricing, and schedule negotiations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to convey commercial solutions to procurement and non-procurement personnel.
  • Ability to work in a complex schedule-driven environment; strong analytical skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Execute cradle-to-grave purchasing activities for a commodity group or project.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
  • Identify corrective actions for quality or schedule issues with suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Project teams; report to project and procurement management.
  • Close out procurement operations, settle claims and back-charges, resolve punch list items for Procurement.
  • Develop core job competencies with existing procedures and processes.
  • Be willing to work hours across regions (US, UK, etc.).

Job description

Title: Associate Purchasing Specialist KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

Job Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, executes and supervises cradle to grave purchasing activities (including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price, and schedule negotiations) for a specific commodity group or project.
  • Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies.
  • Identify corrective actions and measures in case of quality or schedule issues with suppliers.
  • Works closely with Engineering and the projects.
  • Assures that problems will report timely to the projects and senior procurement management.
  • Conducts the orderly closeout of Procurement operations, including settlement of claims and back-charges, and resolving punch list items assigned to Procurement.
  • Develops core job competencies with existing procedures and work processes.
  • Must be willing to work hours to support counterparts in different geographical regions (US, UK, etc.).
Job Requirements
  • Engineering qualification background, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business.
  • 3+ years of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience with a global EPC company executing contracts in key industries, such as oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, chemical, etc.
  • Experience in purchasing or subcontracts, including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price and schedule negotiations, and commercial strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in order to flow goals and directives and effectively communicate commercial solutions and concepts to procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel.
  • Ability to work in a complex schedule-driven work environment.
  • Candidates must have strong analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Candidates must be able to learn new software and tools easily.
