About The Role

We are seeking a Database Administrator with strong expertise in AWS database services, Aurora, and Python scripting to manage and optimize enterprise database environments. The role focuses on database performance, security, availability, automation, backup and recovery, and collaboration with global onshore teams.

Job Description

The role involves managing AWS-based database environments, including Amazon Aurora and RDS, while ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will develop Python-based automation to streamline database operations and support ongoing infrastructure requirements.

The position also includes backup and recovery activities, disaster recovery planning, troubleshooting complex database issues, and coordinating with onshore teams for project requirements and issue resolution. The role requires working from the Availity office under a rotating three-shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain AWS database environments, including Aurora and RDS.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and security.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for database automation and operational activities.
• Perform regular database backups and recovery testing.
• Support disaster recovery planning and database resilience activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
• Collaborate with onshore and global teams on project requirements, updates, and issue resolution.
• Maintain alignment with evolving cloud technologies and security best practices through continuous learning.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have 5–7 years of database administration experience with strong hands-on expertise in AWS database services, Aurora, and Python scripting. The candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting complex database environments and collaborating with distributed global teams.

Work Schedule

• Three rotating shifts, with each shift covering 9 hours including a 1-hour break.
• Shift rotation occurs every 4 weeks to balance night-shift requirements.
• Built-in overlap is provided for smooth team handovers.
• 2 days holiday.
• Work from the Availity office.
