Job summary

JAI Vakeel Foundation Research Centre seeks a dedicated educator to plan and deliver customized curriculum for students with intellectual disabilities. You will align home goals with parents and therapists, aiming for strong participation and progress across learning, therapy, and behavior goals.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, therapists, and caretakers, ensuring timely progress reports and comprehensive documentation. Training will be provided, including regular JVF sessions.

Qualifications

• B.Ed. or D.Ed. in Intellectual Disability (ID) is required.
• RCI Registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student files, attendance, IEPs, assessments, and behaviour/health records.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• plan and ensure timely delivery of subject-specific curriculum tailored to individual student levels, with effective resource management.
• Select and align student home goals in partnership with parents and therapists as part of the EOY process.
• Support students in achieving a minimum of 85% attendance (70% for LR/functional students).
• Develop lesson plans equipped with TLMs and manipulatives, aligned to Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels, and submit them on time.
• Support students on therapy to demonstrate consistent progress in toilet training and behaviour.
• Implement and reflect communication learnings in classroom practice and observations.
• Commit to continuous self-learning, attending at least 90% of all scheduled JVF trainings (excluding CRE).
• Collaborate closely with therapists during TeacherTherapist Interactions (TTI), ensuring follow-up and closure on strategies to support each child's goals.
• Ensure efficient and effective involvement of caretakers in classroom activities.
• Facilitate student participation in Community Integration Programs (CIPs) as per the defined annual schedule.
• Maintain strong attendance and engagement during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs)
• Prepare and share timely student progress and feedback reports covering home, classroom, and therapy goals.
• Ensure effective and timely communication with parents, including event updates and circulars.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student files, attendance, IEPs, assessments, and behaviour/health records across all relevant portals.
• Develop term-wise lesson plans and data-driven action plans, submitted as per defined timelines.
