Job summary

Role & responsibilities

Assess and Evaluate:

• Conduct assessments to identify students' specific learning needs and disabilities.
• Use various tools and techniques to assess their academic, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural abilities.

Individualized Education Planning:

• Collaborate with teachers, section head, and parents to develop personalized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students. These plans outline specific goals, strategies, and accommodations to support the student's learning and development.

Differentiated Instruction:

• Adapt and modify instructional materials and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Implement specialized teaching techniques to cater to the needs of individual students.

Classroom Instruction:

• Deliver instruction to students with special needs either in small groups or individually.
• Employ innovative and evidence-based teaching methods to facilitate learning and skill development.

Behavior Management:

• Develop and implement behavior management plans to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behaviour in the classroom.

Progress Monitoring:

• Regularly assess and monitor students' progress towards their IEP goals.
• Use data to make informed decisions about instructional strategies and interventions.

Parent Communication:

• Maintain open and proactive communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies for supporting the student's learning at home.

Professional Development:

Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in special education. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Preferred candidate profile

• 1. Graduate/ Masters with Degree in Special Education

Nature of Purpose:

• 1. Plan and coordinate for children with additional needs along with the Teacher, Section head and Counsellor
• 2. Supervise for upkeep of the physical set up, hygiene and safety.
• 3. Communicate to share information about children and update about the activities at school.
• Coordinate for IT related queries and issues
