Job summary

Job Location: Manav Rachna International School , Gurugram - IB
Role Overview

The SEN Teacher supports young learners with developmental delays, learning difficulties, or special educational needs by providing early intervention, individualized instruction, and inclusive classroom support in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Student Support & Early Intervention
  • Identify and support children with developmental, learning, behavioural, or social challenges.
  • Conduct age-appropriate observations, screenings, and informal assessments.
  • Plan and implement early intervention strategies to support cognitive, language, motor, and social development.
2. Individualized Education Planning
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Set achievable short-term and long-term goals based on each child’s needs.
  • Monitor progress and adapt interventions accordingly.
3. Classroom & Inclusive Support
  • Work closely with pre-primary teachers to implement inclusive classroom strategies.
  • Provide in-class support, small-group instruction, or pull-out sessions as required.
  • Support classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Conduct regular meetings with parents to discuss progress and strategies.
  • Guide parents on home-based support techniques and routines.
  • Collaborate with therapists, counsellors, and external specialists when required.
5. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, IEPs, progress notes, and interventions.
  • Prepare reports for internal reviews, audits, and parent meetings.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of student information.
6. Behaviour & Emotional Support
  • Support children with emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioural challenges.
  • Implement positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behaviour plans.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and emotionally secure learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s / Master’s in Special Education (Early Intervention preferred).
  • RCI certification (mandatory where applicable).
Experience
  • 2–5 years of experience working with early years children with special needs.
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and SEN strategies.
  • Expertise in early intervention, play-based learning, and sensory integration.
