Job summary

General Solution Private Limited is seeking a senior SP3D specialist to configure, manage, and troubleshoot Hexagon Smart 3D in a professional setup. You will handle databases, project templates, security settings, and integration with SPF/SPI/SPEL while ensuring smooth background operations.

The role spans administration of S3D environments, data integrity, and cross-discipline support across piping, structural, equipment, HVAC, and electrical fields.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Piping, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12-15 years’ experience and min 8 years in similar role.
• Experience in Oil & Gas industry is necessary.
• Able to work in critical schedule deadlines, provide data analysis and reports, have outstanding organizational and communications skills.
• Shall be able to work in multi-cultural / multi-lingual environment.
• Capable to build strong relationships with clients & Suppliers.
• Self-tasking and an ability to work with minimal supervision.

S3D Admin shall be key person we are looking with the skills to configure, manage, and troubleshoot SP3D software in a professional setup and ensures that everything runs smoothly in the background—managing databases, setting up project templates, handling security settings, and more.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Hexagon Smart 3D (S3D) software and associated applications.
• Administer Smart 3D project environments, model databases, and reference data in accordance with system architecture.
• Maintain consistency in naming conventions, project hierarchies, and rules within the Project Management module.
• Set up and maintain site environments and catalog databases using Project Management and database tools (Oracle/MS SQL).
• Provide Smart 3D support across all engineering disciplines including Piping, Structural, Equipment, HVAC, and Cable Tray.
• Catalogue creation for piping spec, electrical/Instrumentation, civil/structural, HVAC
• Support integration workflows with SmartPLANT Foundation (SPF), Smart Instrumentation (SPI), and Smart Electrical (SPEL) as applicable.
• Coordinate with IT and other administrators to resolve system integration and interface issues.
• Troubleshoot modeling issues, reference data errors, and system behavior within defined scope.
• Collaborate with Hexagon support and internal IT teams on escalated issues.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to S3D software, databases, and system integrations.
• Maintain issue logs and resolution documentation to identify recurring problems and preventive actions.
• Conduct user onboarding, refresher training, and documentation walkthroughs.
• Assist with maintenance and customization of catalogs, symbols, piping specifications, and rules.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of reference data across disciplines including piping, equipment, structural, HVAC, and electrical.
• Setup and management of new and existing engineering projects within SmartPlant 3D in standalone as well in workshare mode.
• Troubleshooting SP3D software issue and Providing user-support to project resources
• SP3D Customization required for project deliverable’s
• Implement automation tools that will benefit the project deliverable’s
• Utilize 3D model reporting to assist monitoring design quality and progress.
• Experience utilizing laser scan data and utilizing other 3D systems
• Customization, Symbol Creation to the required exact geometry (eg. Control valves) & Custom commands to reduce Designers effort as much as possible.
• Piping Isometric Customization including creation of new symbols & labels.
• View Style Creation for different type of GA Drawings for all disciplines.
• Reports Customization for MTO, Weight, & COG for all discipline model items individually and consolidated.
• Should have hands on experience in creating filters, surface style rules and creation of review files (for SPR and Navisworks review files generation)
• Should have capability of handling SQL and Oracle Servers and Databases.
• TO DO lists errors resolutions, troubleshooting of any application issues etc.
• Report preparation for ongoing/delayed progress in accordance with Primavera iput
• Preparation of job bulletin templates for project use
• Mentor lower-level engineers and support knowledge transfer.
