Job summary

Bull Machines in Coimbatore is seeking a BE Mechanical engineer with extensive experience in cost management, NPD sourcing, and value engineering to lead cost analysis for new products. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, perform zero-based cost analyses, and collaborate with Design, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Finance to optimize costs across the product lifecycle.

Familiarity with SAP MM and cost reporting is a plus.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in cost management, NPD sourcing, or value engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, target costing, value engineering, BOM, and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
• Good understanding of raw material pricing, sourcing strategies, and market benchmarking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for new products, projects, and components by analyzing material, labor, tooling, and overhead costs.
• Perform zero-based cost analysis, value engineering, and cost-benefit studies to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to optimize product costs throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain cost models, BOM validations, benchmarking reports, and transparent cost reports to support management decisions.
• Monitor cost performance, recommend process improvements, and ensure all cost optimization initiatives align with business objectives, quality standards, and project timelines.

• BE in Mechanical Engineering with 1214 years of experience in Cost Management, NPD Sourcing, or Value Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, target costing, value engineering (VE), BOM, and cost breakdown structures (CBS).
• Good understanding of raw material pricing, sourcing strategies, commercial impact, and market benchmarking.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM, cost reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Design, Procurement, Production, and Finance teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining quality and delivery targets.
