Job summary

Harting Technology Group in Chennai is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead strategic supply base development. You will leverage spend data and demand forecasting to build a robust vendor ecosystem aligned with long-term R&D and business growth, managing supplier readiness and localization during NPIs.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic procurement, strong analytics, and end-to-end procurement leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement and supply base development.
• Experience in strategic commodity management and long-term sourcing strategies.
• Knowledge of global market trends, cost optimization, and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for key commodities.
• Lead end-to-end procurement, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
• Leverage spend analytics to build and manage a scalable vendor ecosystem.
• Monitor supplier KPIs for quality, delivery, and ISO/IATF compliance.
• Mitigate risks and bottlenecks to ensure operational continuity.
• Coordinate NPIs and localization to align R&D with manufacturing execution.
• Maintain real-time metrics and audit records for data-driven decisions.

Job Description

This role focuses on Strategic supply base development by leveraging spend data and demand forecasting to proactively build and manage a vendor ecosystem that aligns with long-term R&D and business growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Minimum 5+ years of experience.
• Strategic Commodity Management: Develop and execute long- term sourcing strategies for key commodities by monitoring global market trends and technological shifts.
• Leverage SAP and spend analytics to implement robust supplier strategies that align with organizational growth.Analyze upcoming demand to proactively prepare the vendor base for future R&D requirements.
• Proactive Demand Planning: Analyze fore casting data to scale the vendor base in anticipation of future R&D and business requirements.
• Market Adaptability : Monitor industry dynamics to pivot sourcing strategies ahead of shifting economic or supply landscapes.
• End-to-End Procurement: Lead the full supplier life cycle, including rigorous selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
• Performance Excellence: Oversee vendorKPIs related to quality,delivery,and compliance with ISO/IATF standards.
• Risk & Bottle neck Mitigation :Resolve high-level supply constraints,including capacity issues and delivery delays, to ensure operational continuity.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive cost-optimization through value engineering ,alternative sourcing,and active supplier development.
• NPI & Localization Coordination: Bridge the gap between R&D innovation and scalable execution by managing supplier readiness during New Product Introductions & localization.
• Operational Intelligence: Maintain real-time metrics and detailed audit records to facilitate informed, data-driven business decisions.
• Industry Leadership: Stay current one merging supply chain best practice sand innovative sourcing technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
